Didn't want to buy anything on Prime Day, but I caved in and bought the Hogwarts Great Hall since it rarely goes on sale here in Italy, and I always wanted the Hogwarts castle when I was little.

For some reason it wasn't eligible for Prime shipping, so at least I didn't bother Amazon workers in the past couple of days. It should arrive next week.

I'm genuinely surprised to see the complete lack of chatter about the new VIP scheme that went up on the LEGO website about a week ago, given that it is absolutely feckin' awful...

I can no longer see how many points I have earned — every single time I attempt to 'Sign In to Reward Centre', the page seemingly loads, before screeching to a halt, then reloads the very same VIP page you were on before, asking you to sign in (again and again).

It is ssoooo infuriating!

Anybody else experiencing this?

haven't tried to buy anything on shop@home since the switchover.
However, given that every special sale or new set release seems to break the site somehow, I'm not surprised this thing is busted.

I noticed this today. I had to disable the uBlock and Disconnect browser extensions for it to work.

I also seem to be missing every set I put in my wishlist :( it's empty now

One of the rewards in the new Rewards scheme is 7 days of Game Pass for 500 pts (650 pts is equivalent to the old 100 points or $5 redemption). Odd.

I've been keeping an eye on a certain LEGO set at Walmart via Brickseek, waiting for the discount price to go down to the next level before making a trip in search of it. Last night I saw that had finally happened, and since I had today off from work I drove out to a couple of less-traveled Walmart locations hoping to snag that particular set as well as anything else that may have caught my eye.

19 looks pretty boring.

I grabbed the Hidden Side School and Bus sets for my daughter's birthday next week. Really excited for this series, it looks to be a lot of fun.

If you are in the Midwest US, Meijer is having clearance sales, some stores are up to 30% off. I just got the Creator Pirate Roller Coaster for $43.

Grabbed 70419 Wrecked Shrimp Boat this morning, has been sitting on my desk unopened all day. I have a ton of unopened sets but I think Hidden Side is going to take precedent now.

I love the look of the Hidden Side sets but I can't really find anywhere to fit them in my (eventual) Lego display set up. I don't have the space to be buying them just for the sake of it, unfortunately.

Seems like Shrimp Boat is the top choice for many. Price point it very nice at $30 for the two may protagonists, 2 other nice and useful minifigs, and a nice looking build. That is the one set I will buy from the first wave of the Hidden Side theme.

Teaser for the Friends Ideas set that should be releasing soon:

Also some rumored info from StoneWars.de:
The LEGO Ideas Friends Set was titled "The Central Perk Coffee of Friends" and included 1,719 pieces in the design . The finished set, on the other hand, should contain only 1,070 stones , making it significantly smaller than the design. In addition, only 6 minifigures of the original 7 are planned. The character of Gunther apparently did not make it to the final set.

The official release date for the LEGO Ideas 21319 Friends Set is September 01, 2019 . So far, there is still no information about a possible VIP pre-sale and probably there will be none, since in August, another VIP pre-sale is waiting for us ... More on that later 😉

The price will probably be in view of the size moderate 69.99 euros (RRP). Here you pay 6.5 cents per stone , which is not very expensive for a licensed set.

Decided it's time for me to do some free building moc's again so I broke out some baseplates and the go brick me set and I think I'll start with that and do some microbuilds
CGBuX6J.jpg

I'll start with that and maybe the 4 Star Wars 20th anniversary sets I got. Hmmm maybe I'll do the Boonta classic but I may have to dig into my sorted whites for that. For reference I don't really have a space to sort out all my stuff but here's a glimpse at my stuff
1bnYOY2.jpg

All four of those are about 2/3-3/4 full. And here's my semi sorted stuff
P2wdUnJ.jpg

And I have another small tub... oh and another box with mindstorms 2.0 and motorized atat and some other random stuff(boxes, manuals, possibly my Knights kingdom baseplate and adventurers blimp, it's like 2'x2'x4' and has lots of fun stuff) but I can't get at it right now. Oh and a built destiny's bounty and at-hauler

Hi Lego Era! I'm not sure where else to ask this so I figured I'd ask here, but I don't suppose anyone could identify anything in these pictures? I think I see 2 mega bloks items, but the person selling these insists it is basically all Lego brand, and I do see a few Minifigures.

I strongly object to that DVD sorting in so many ways.

(The selection of DVDs themselves, however, I strongly approve of)

Well, it's no great secret, but it's finally leaked:

My first thought is that it's the wrong station to go with the Castle, but that's me being awfully petty. It's lovely.

Wonder if that's enough track to do a full loop around the castle.

Leaked pictures of some fall Star Wars sets have leaked. Most of them are from Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian. Should be able to find them online easily.

For sure picking up that new A-Wing! Maybe the Mandalorian AT-ST set too.

I'm definitely getting that new Kylo's shuttle. I already have the old, incorrect one. Still boxed, I'm going to sell it.
And the improved Falcon looks very tempting, but I also already have its predecessor

I couldn't resist either of them! My eldest son absolutely loves Ninjago, and this has 7 minifigs - only missing Garmadon. He's only 5 in October, but he's pretty good with sets for older kids. And the latter I'm buying on the premise of saving it for when he's old enough (it'll be open within days of me getting it).

If I wanted to buy a few specific Lego figures without getting the sets they're from, what's the safest way to make sure I'm getting authentic stuff and not bootlegs? I would imagine eBay is a minefield for that sort of thing.

Bricklink.

Search for each figure and add it to cart. Bricklink will then have a way to sort and group various sellers to pick your order.

Yeah, that's going to be bonkers.

I'm so glad I'm not super into Star Wars sets, it would be so hard if all LEGO's expensive huge sets were franchises I was interested in.

New Star Destroyer is revealed. Would love to know if its a more solid build than the last one. The original set was flimsy and super super fragile. Used magnets to hold it together on the bottom with those angles.... hope they got rid of that.

I just saw the email about the Devastator. I've been waiting for a release like this for years as I missed the first but why the hell is it so expensive? $100 less than the Falcon for around 2800 less pieces is absurd.

The new one looks as uninteresting as the old one (that I built once and sold) tbh.

I think I am 99% going to skip the Millenium Falcon too. My interestes have been veering more towards the smaller/clever sets.

Edit: Holy shit, that Hogwarts!

Finished building the Central Perk tonight. This may surpass the Stranger Things set in being my favorite set of 2019. Fantastic price, great minifigs, and a fun build. One of my favorite parts about the build is how the rug sections (like the couch and stage area) are raised just a bit to give that look of it being a rug. I've never seen that technique done with a set before and think it's genius.

I wonder if LEGO is considering making a set based off Monica's Apartment in the future. This set seems to doing incredibly well. Still showing as "temporarily out of stock" on LEGO Shop for me and I've never seen that with a newly released set before. I thought you were always able to order them through backordering.

Same here. I ordered it within the first hour it was available on the UK website, and it was 'out of stock' quicker than anything I have witnessed on the online LEGO store.

Bought it for my partners Christmas present, as she has thankfully taken a long overdue interest in LEGO this past year, especially after our two night stay at LEGO land in Denmark!

Arrived the other day — the box is much bigger than I expected!

Yeah the box was a bit bigger than I anticipated too lol. Seems to be a trend with some recently released Ideas sets. The Flintstones set from earlier this year had an absolute massive box.

Well, looks like The Office might not pass the next Ideas review (or the one after that). A company called PhatMojo has The Office license and is releasing this:
The-Office-CS-Manual-Chrono_sm_1-1030x839.jpg

This layout is exactly what I pictured LEGO doing for the set too. Shame.

Hug your wallets!

You guys are really lucky they get discounted so cheap - we're lucky when they're 30% off in Australia. 40% if they are really unpopular sets they're trying to clear out. I'm really hoping Amazon will have some deals on Black Friday.

Oh boy. This looks great. Looks a bit similar to the Toy Workshop, but I don't have that one. I'll prolly get this depending on funds. I have the train and train station, but skipped the fire station last year.
I love the look of this and will be a perfect edition to the set. I have a feeling this will be the last one though.
