Has there been any news on this having a steelbook edition in NA, like in the UK? I doubt it, but there's always a chance...

Not that I'm aware of sadly. I think Smash and the 3DS Pokemon games were the only ones to get one in NA in the last few years... if ever?
There's actually a few more than that. Xenoblade 2, Mario Kart, Pokemon Let's Go,... from LEs and Best Buy bonuses though.

Ooh, hey! I just commented at E3 thread that XXL 3 is one anticipated game that I hope to see at the event, and I had no idea XXL 2 was getting a physical release in North America! I knew there was one in Europe, but that's a pretty good sign for the new game coming!
