All I want are a few compilations.
They have a massive library prime for re-releases, but I guess there's no money to be made on the idea.

Yep, I'm too. Literally GOTY after GOTY:
Can't wait to see what they're preparing next.
Yep, on mobile. That's why I said you should invest in good smartphone.
Yeah I think we can realistically see Konami stop developing games out of mobile and pachislots ://So they had their most profitable year since they stopped making games?
Thanks for taking the quote out of context, I guess. Financially they are doing well, I'm not opposing that at all. And in the long run, this is a good thing for the company as a whole, since it means they'll stick around. However, you can't ignore the path they've chosen and how they're actively ignoring their own legacy. When I say "turn it around" I'm simply hoping that, sometime in the future, they will get a lead that has a different view for Konami. As it stands now, they are getting less and less relevant for gamers.
Oh, I agree that I have no interest in the new Konami whatsoever, and yet they've been one of my favourite pubs/devs of years past - not to mention their arcade heritage too. So it's a shame, but equally, they are a business. And like Sega, they've had to focus on reducing risk and concentrate on the areas which are most profitable. Sucks for us, but it's the direction the industry is going in. I can't see them ever returning to a focus on AAA single player video games, unless the industry somehow drastically changes.
We can only hope that with publishers like Konami and Sega, they'll be happy to license out IP to third parties who might be more interested in exploring them.
I am not defending their company ethics there at all. I am arguing that how childish gamer act when they see their so called devs get fired even after it had been shown by Nikkei that it cost 80 million USD and the product is in no way complete at all.
That shows how incompetence Kojima is and it is in Konami right to sack that money pit.
If you guys wanted to talk about work ethics, then argue on that part. Not acting so petty.
Could you post sales numbers for Momotaro Dentetsu, so people will see here how "big" was that title :)It is also nice for you to put those two title while ignoring their big hit on 3DS last year.
And now we are playing Metacritic lol? Bomberman is mostly 60-70+ score game lol. It is never a highly scored game in MC except for a rare few one or two. It is the perfect example of game that resonate with more casual gamer as it can be played by almost everyone there.
Healthy how? So all competition becomes all big industry names, a flooded market with no controls, and indies being shoved all the way down on the app store due the greater influx and big names? Indies race to the bottom in price just to get their names out there? Third world contries left behind even more? That's why I hope everyone will drop console business (including Nintendo) and start develop games exclusively for iOS/Android. It would be so healthy for industry.
You mean the $80 million game that made a profit of $179 million on day 1? And that's not counting all the money that Konami made off of Ground Zeroes. Oh, and let's not forget the brand new engine that was created during the development of the game.
Kojima delivered on all accounts and he and his team made one of the best playing games ever made. The only portion that is unfinished in MGSV is Episode 51 and that was supposed to be post launch DLC, which got cancelled for obvious reasons. But even then Kojima and his team put together a video from what they could to show fans what would have happened.
So yeah, defending Konami in light of hating on Kojima is always funny to me. Especially considering how many other employees they have screwed over.
Funny you should bring up Bomberman because it received a lot of great free post-launch support and I would easily recommend it in its current state. Konami listened to their fans. :)

So you like bad reviewed games. I got it now.
Oh, that's huge. Probably they should drop their smarphone games and invest exclusively in 3DS instead.
Ummm...... thats not how u count profit lol. Like what the hell. Company don't receive 60 bucks fully for every copy sold. They are going to get cut from not only retailers but also the platform holder and that is not in small numbers. In the end, even if the project is profitable the risk is too high for the reward it received as there is no guarantee that the product would bring such huge profit when the company would need to hold all those lost early on when they can just invest that 80 milion in other platform which is safer and able to bring profit on faster manner.
Yep, it's a remake with enhanced graphics, 4K support, new sound design and VR support. VR is optional, as I understand.Anubis Zone of Enders Mars PSVR? And here I thought I wouldn't be interested in another Konami game again.
Does anyone have any regarding this title?

They should just license their IPs. That's all it would take for us to be satisfied.
Thanks, I just found this trailer: https://youtu.be/mb2eDNbfnwwYep, it's a remake with enhanced graphics, 4K support, new sound design and VR support. VR is optional, as I understand.
Oh, I don't. I'm not a shareholder like you :) I'm just interested in good games, that's it.
Perhaps it's time to stop posting in a goddamn financials thread if you have no interest in financials.Oh, I don't. I'm not a shareholder like you :) I'm just interested in good games, that's it.

I hate baseball. Boredom. Then you'd be happy to know the new Pawapuro game is their best so far. No need to be so mad about Konami doing good.
I never heard a single good thing about a Konami gym... That being said, if they had one in my part of Aomori, I would definitely have been a member.
Haha. That salt lol. But sure. You don't need to worry lol. They already invested that money to make Bomberman on Switch which almost hit 1 million WW+ Jikkyou Power Pro for PS4 there. So you don't need to worry about them.
Oh, I don't. I'm not a shareholder like you :) I'm just interested in good games, that's it.
MGSV made a lot of money and was received very positively by critics and in general, so Kojima and his team delivered.
What you are arguing against is AAA game development, not Kojima.
The new God of War is expensive as fuck and Sony probably could have made more money investing its budget into something else. Who cares? The important thing is that we got an amazing game and Sony will still make a healthy profit.
How to make money is a bad lesson?
Guess thats nice for you then. Go try their newest Jikkyou Power Pro on PS4 or their mobile games as that is good games.^_^
Ummm.... Kojima vs Konami fiasco is literally about AAA games and how Kojima is such a huge money pit for Konami that it needed interference from Konami to make sure that the game can be released faster than it keep continuing haemorrhaging money for Konami.
Again, you should not compare third party company with a platform holder like at all. Sony is literally giant if you compared it with Konami and Sony had much more financial stability which will allow them to release much bigger and riskier project vs what Konami can do.
Guess time proved them to be right in firing Kojima for fucking up MGS V.
Are the images in the OP not appearing for some of you? Why do people keep bringing up pachinko like it's some top priority for Konami? Sure, the profit margin in that division is high, but still makes up a relatively small portion of their business.
The vast majority of their profits are coming from Konami Digital Entertainment, which is their video game arm and includes TCG and anime. In this division alone, they are still one of the more successful Japanese publishers. For example, they nearly doubled Capcom's profits in this sector, despite Capcom having a huge hit with Monster Hunter World.
Perhaps it's time to stop posting in a goddamn financials thread if you have no interest in financials.
You do you though.
Idk what I'm looking at here but apparantly it's creating a lot of revenue
No it's not "literally" about that because we don't know what it's actually about. At one point Kojima is making MGSV and the head of Konami personally calls him and requests that he make a new Silent Hill and at another their relationship has completely gone down the drain.
And you should really stop with this money pit thing. The only way it would make sense is if MGSV failed, which it didn't. The game was a major success.
I used Sony as an example, the same thing can be said for many other devs. Take Square Enix for example who still make super expensive mainline Final Fantasy games and are now even giving Tabata his own division to make a new AAA IP.
Have you tried any of their recent arcade offerings? They have some really killer stuff out there right now.I hate baseball. Boredom.
And I'm not mad. I just don't like bad games.
Guess getting rid of Kojima was a good idea. Obviously they knew that they didn't need him to remain profitable. So good for them for doing what had to be done.
It is a fact. 80 million USD is not small amount of money at all.
Historically, Konami was always bigger than Capcom. It's not fair comparison at all. You should stop doing that. While we can also see for company like Cacpcom which had been pushing a lot of AAA gaming experience had been doing below what Konami had been doing so there is both positive and negative sides of argument there.
