Great stuff. Wasn't a massive fan of TB's content but he did some really good things for eSports. Absolutely deserved.
This is awful. It starts from the fact that an "esports hall of fame" exists, and then it's downhill from there.
What about the fact of esports hall of fame existing is awful?

Maybe the nomination process takes a really long time and they put in the nomination right after his death or something

Understandable when you look at his storied past with the esports scene I guess. He did a lot of commentating and even had his own esports league team at one point too.

I especially miss his "WTF Is..." series. It was great having a centralised source for technical breakdowns of PC games and ports.
A man who was also widely condemned for his support of gamergate and using his wide influence to spread the hatred causing immeasurable damage to the gaming community. They seem to have forgotten that part.

He associated with the GamerGate movement in its early stages due to his great passion for consumer advocacy and took longer than most to realize that the movement wasn't what it pretended to be. AFAIK, he later distanced himself from the movement.
There is a lot of ignorance going around when it comes to threads about TB. He's made his fair share of mistakes, but a bunch of people only remember highlights they read on forums years ago and somehow think that people don't change over time. It's really annoying.
Well, every other Hall of Fame has plenty of infamy associated with it, so this fits.

After reading how he supported Gamergate and helped spread the hate, this is a bad, but really bad move.
Nothing awful about any of this. Especially the fact that an esports hall of fame exists.

none of us did when he first died out of respect, but that was months ago now. you gotta bring it up sooner or later, especially if he's gonna keep getting awards like nothing happened.
Did he apologise for endorsing gamergate? Did he unequivocally admit he was wrong to do so?

Someone that caused real harm to people doesn't deserve respect just cause he's dead.

have you heard of gamergate? that was their motto, but all they actually did was harass a bunch of people.
Inducting him to a hall of fame? OK. Speaking about his deeply problematic views? Oh, no, please don't!
Too bad actions and their consequences live on for far longer than people.

The short version was that TB did what he always did, which was go hard on the pro-consumer elements, then he kinda backed the fuck up later when he realized how shit it was
