I knew the title and poster were misleading going in, so I was spared the unpleasant surprise, but man is that poster misleading as hell. That scene in the movie doesn't even take place at night. It's amazing they thought the marketing was acceptable. It's like they took a look at their production stills and they really liked that one (who doesn't?) so they just made it look like night to make it scarier and made it the poster, with no regard to the fact that it doesn't fit the film. I liked the film well enough, but it's a case of the poster being much better than the film it's made for. It was decently tense, well-made and interesting, but it's very simple and doesn't have much to say in the end.
