I think the only major male character he didn't voice was Elmer Fudd.
I don't think we have then in Canada on Crave.HBO Max? I've been rewatching them there, which is what gave me this thread idea.
Last time I checked, yeah. Are they all on HBO max? Everything that has been produced since the 30s?
If he's not number one then I'd like to see that top 10 list. In terms of range and flexibility who else is even on that level?
There's certain voice actors who were perfect in their roles (Kevin Conroy's Batman, hell 99% of the BTAS cast, Steve Blum as Wolverine).
Billy West is in the conversation as is Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, and Phil Lamarr. Special shout out to Frank Welker for being in everything too. But really it's Blanc.
Mel Blanc is definitely the GOAT
working currently? Billy West, Frank Welker, Tara Strong - and the current voice of the Looney Tunes cast Eric Bauza is pretty great, too.
I understood that reference.
People mentioned Frank Welker, but I have never heard of him. I'm sure I've heard his voices, but his name hasn't transcended the way Mel Blanc's has.
I'm gonna be honest, the only thing I know Paul Frees from is Knight Rider and being the second voice of KARR.
On top of being able to mimic another character's voice like what was mentioned for Mel Blanc.
Blanc is #1, Welker #2, but there are many talented artists with long careers and lists of characters that never get that level of notoriety who are also in the running.
