This news is exactly why Dragon hasn't been announced yet. It occupies a similar zone as Contraband and Diablo IV, so they will wait until those games are out and we are closer to Dragon launching before releasing. There's also the Monster Hunter-style game being made by Certain Affinity.I'm glad Xbox has held off on announcing Project Dragon (for now). The early announcements were getting ridiculous.
So what are they doing in the meantime? Hitman 3 has content done right? Will they really release nothing until 2025? Or am I forgetting something?
They literally just released a new map for Hitman 3 and are working on the Freelancer mode.So what are they doing in the meantime? Hitman 3 has content done right? Will they really release nothing until 2025? Or am I forgetting something?
Hitman 3 has a rougelike mode coming later this year. One free bonus mission is planned but unannounced, too.
Ahh, I must've misread something awhile back. I thought they said they were done with Hitman updatesThey literally just released a new map for Hitman 3 and are working on the Freelancer mode.
When Jez first reported on Dragon, he wasn't even sure if the game had been greenlit. Clearly it has been now, but it probably started pre-production around the time Hitman 3 launched and they started their second studio. That was only a year or two ago. 5-6 years is pretty standard for big new IPs these days.Quite curious to see IOI's take on a medieval fantasy setting with dragons and stuff. 2025 seems pretty far away though, and that's probably the most optimistic release window.
Eh? 4-5+ years of development is common for AAA sequels, never mind this game which will be a brand new property for IOI.thats 3 fucking years from now?! did the 007 project not start over a year ago? and they will use the hitman 3 engine for that, right? 4+ years of development seems a bit much.
Joking aside, her role in NTTD was low-key the best part of the film. I know there was some talk years back that Eon was thinking about a bond spinoff. A TV show or film about De Armas characters exploits could easily be the best thing from the Bond franchise since Casino Royale. At least it would be new and interestingWill Ana De Armas return for a brief cameo and double her Bond screentime?
Yeah, game announcement to hire people is definitely the worst.
I don't think I blamed them personally...What choices do they have?
"IOI is known for Hitman" and nothing else, how are you going to attract talent if they don't know you are working on Bond or an massive RPG?
You'd like to think that part of their contract allows for some creative license for IO and process for dealing with disputes fairly. You'd like to think.EON is notoriously difficult to work with as well. Best of luck to IO; I'm confident they can make a fantastic 007 game if they're allowed to do so.

Is Dragon the game that was rumored to be Rockstar at one point?

The Freelancer update is suppose to be hitting this Fall or Winter. I can't wait for that.Hitman 3 exceeding expectations = satisfactory. No kidding management.
Hitman Season 3 I suspect.
