"Imagine Dragons - Thunder" is the worst song of 2017 (possibly all time)

I heard this on the radio yesterday
(again) and goddamn is it awful. Bluntly, Imagine Dragons has always sucked, but this is on a whole other level.
All there songs are just bass drum + rising and falling vocals. "Rock" is dead. Long live rock.

Imagine Dragons sucks for the most part, so the expectations from the work coming from them are pretty low. With that said holy fuck that's a awful song.
Basically a rich white girl who's had it so easy in life and everything basically handed to her and she becomes this petty little shit and tries to be edgy about it. It insults everyone along the way and makes her even more of a joke. The music itself helps solidify that too. While I truly hate "Thunder" as a song, production, lyrics and all, it doesn't make me groan or as annoyed as "Look What You Made Me Do." One is harmless and stupid and the other embarrassingly petty.
I'm still a firm believer of the idea that Imagine Dragons doesn't exist and is all an elaborate marketing gag. All their songs sound like they are made for trailers or commercials, there's no emotion or feeling behind any of them. Even their name sounds like it came straight out of an indie band name generator.
Ehhh, I guess. I definitely wouldn't call Despacito a 'Millennial' thing though because I know plenty who haven't even heard the song.

It's so insightful. When you first hear Thunder, feel the thunder. Then when you hear it for the millionth time. What a story. What a journey.
Opinions and all. I've listened to every record he's put out. Few of the guys at work listen to him, but I can't stand it.
Basically anything Black Eyes Peas, X-Factor etc. as well.
Just generic bad pop music, at least the auto-tune is taking a break.
Although this might be cheating. Apparently Rodney left most of the lyrics as placeholders so they could shoot the music video, at which point they would figure out actual lyrics to go with the beat..... but found the song so absolutely absurd they decided to leave as is.

You're absolutely right. I don't even understand how human beings got in a room to waste this much time singing about thunder. What is even the point of this song? This is a blight against humanity.
