Not really shock Mick isn't blameless in all of this. I trust id software to know how important the music is to doom and be as accommodating as possible.
This ain't it. Marty expressly stated this letter exists because their employees were being harassed because it was Mick Gordon who threw them under the bus. Did you forget how this whole thing started weeks ago?Bad form to air out all this dirty laundry just to try and help one id employee save face for something that, whether fault of his or not, was ultimately a disappointing product to deliver to fans.
yeah and the constraints on those artists are not equal to the constraints put on someone like Mick Gordon.
Coding and programming can be rushed if need be. The problems that we see around the industry with crunch is proof of that. But you cannot Rush a soundtrack. That is just not how it works.

Did that "Maybe they had someone from marketing do it?" quotething come from Mick or just Internet being Internet?
I remember that started to float around soon after controversy started, but can't find receipts that Mick ever said anything like that about Chad.
No, they could have . they just didn't want to have to issue refunds. Which honestly is a crap excuse for releasing a sub par product. yes another delay on the OST would have caused some small uproar but I think it's preferable to what is happening nowRead the post. They couldn't extend the overall deadline to due to international laws.
I already apologized for the tone of the post. I didn't mean to be insulting. I made several posts after that one.I'm a coder/programmer, and I find insulting that you consider that my work is less important and can be easily rushed.
So in order to defend one employee he has to publicly trash a business partner? I'm sure that'll have talent lining up at the door to score the third! Maybe he instead should have supported the employee directly as opposed to playing the blame game. This ain't it. I get where you're coming from. You seem like you're a really big fan of Mick and his music. I hope that they're able to work out their issues in the near future.I already apologized for the tone of the post. I didn't mean to be insulting. I made several posts after that one.
Season 3's tracks were nowhere near as good as 1 and 2's IMO..and that was with TWO composers collaborating on less characters.Mick created a great soundtrack, but it's not like he is the only great artist out there. KI season 3 didn't have Mick and still had some badass music.
Just tossing on here pretty much what my thoughts I've said on twitter, but one person rearranging, programming, EQing/Mixing, and attempting to master a project that big is kinda unrealistic. He shoulda got some back up, it was a bigger endeavor than the first OST, he had less time... with the first game he already had the finished game out there while he could focus on the OST, not the case here.
I'm not sure why they didn't force him to dump source audio project files when they first agreed that Chad would help, just that little bit right there would've ended up with a better backup product.
Again, it's Mick Gordon who slung mud, they were forced to explain the situation due to the resulting targeted harassment. Mick Gordon does not get to say whatever he wants just because you like him, his words directly lead to id Software needing to explain the full situation, there is no buts about this.So in order to defend one employee he has to publicly trash a business partner? While mick gordon's music is great, it's disingenuous for me to act like he's the major reason this games were amazing the way they were, and as hard as it may be for some to hear, he is indeed replaceable.
The letter explains this. You need to read the letter.I can get behind someone else having to do it because Mick delivered the stuff too late, but did the others have to mix it like garbage? It suffers so much because of it.
Yeah, it feels incredibly unprofessional and childish from Mick.Yeah I feel like this is several magnitudes worse than anything else being discussed. No matter how you slice it that was an incredibly shitty thing for Mick to do.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharinghttps://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/gdg25y/doom_eternal_ost_open_letter/
On that Reddit post, executive producer Marty Stratton addresses the situation with Mick Gordon, DOOM Eternal's OST release and why most tracks weren't mixed by Mick. This is still one side of the story, so I'd wait for him to reply before drawing conclusions.
