Played it with 4 other friends. 5 people is bare minimum for it being interesting.

Nevertheless, we had some hilarious moments like when you accidentally witness a murder and he tried to get out ot it.

Not going to vote since none of those options really work for me.

I say it's good. It's fun with friends, but I wouldn't play with strangers/randoms.

It's another one of those games that requires people to play it properly in order to be fun, but still cant quite "force" people in the playing it properly with randoms, so games can be very hit and miss.

Playing with friends again is probably the only way to go.

A good idea roughly implemented and pretty flawed.

I think my main issue is that it's just not very fun not being able to communicate so much of the time, and you can die early on through no fault of your own and have nothing interesting to do.

I played it for the first time the other night and it was a lot of fun. I played with some friends so we were all on Discord and I think that helps a lot. I couldn't imagine just trying to play it on mobile using text. The joy from the game comes from yelling at your friends during the meetings.

It's great but I don't have a group of friend to play it so it's not as great because of it.

So I guess it's my own fault and not the game.
With random people, even on discord, it's... ok.

It's a fun game but I've mostly played it on mobile so it's hampered by touch controls. Can't play it properly on my Mac since there's no Mac version (of course) so I downloaded an Android emulator so I can play it on my MacBook with a mouse and keyboard.

It's a fun game, but my group already plays other social deduction games like Avalon, which I find to have more interesting gameplay.

Thanks

This is definitely the right move, it's not about graphics or anything, the issue with the game is entirely around content, so glad they are working hard on adding it. Hopefully once they get one new map in, they can get another in quicker.

The game only launched with 1 map, I believe, so they've already got experience adding new maps. I don't think adding one will improve the speed at adding another since it isn't something new they are learning to do. The speed the maps get added is entirely dependent on how quickly they can create the content.

I think it was a mistake to not continue work on the sequel because it seems like it be way harder to add features to the original. I hope it pays off for them

It's free (or very cheap) fun. I play from time to time. Especially fun with friends and voice chat.

if you can reunite at least 6 friends, it's pretty good, if you can do 8 or 10, even better. But playing with randoms sucks and always leave

I play with randoms online and I've been having a lot of fun. It's simple but addictive and the fact that you can affect factors like amount of tasks, kill time, number of imposters etc gives each game a lot of variety. It's always funny when the crew floats someone who wasn't an imposter.

I think streamers have managed to make it more interesting by using Discord. As someone who doesn't use Discord, though, I don't think I'd have the same experience with the game, especially since I'd have trouble getting the same people together time after time to play it. I just think the game looks more interesting with a close group of friends or at least a group of people you're reasonable familiar with.

Don't have a regular group, so played with strangers. It's ok. I got to be the imposter once. Didn't really know the controls, somehow figured out how to hide in a vent and vent all the oxygen in the first minute of the game. I won that game.

It looks amazing from the streams I've watched, but I'm 1.) not going to play with randoms and 2.) don't have 9 other people that would want to play at the same time. I'm sure when winter hits and we're all fully indoors with COVID, I'll be able to replace some Zoom nights with Among Us.

It's a fun concept, and I enjoyed playing games like Mafia before, but it's really frustrating playing with randoms, esp. without built-in voice chat. I only play it with a local PUG.

missing the "I like the game, and I play it here and there with my friends" option

It's a fun little game. Nothing new since social deduction games have been done before, especially in the board game arena--some of which are even better...Battlestar Galactica, The Resistance, & Secret Hitler.

So after this COVID mess and if you have IRL friends, I highly suggest these if you really enjoy Among Us. Good luck getting BSG though.

I really enjoy watching other people play it but getting in vocal arguments with people isn't how I personally want to spend my free time, so I have zero interest in buying or playing it myself.

it's fun to play with friends but terrible with randos. I played a couple of public games yesterday full of kids throwing around slurs.

It will destroy more friendships than Mario Party and Mario Kart put together. I love it!

Decent version of mafia, but at it's core just a variation of mafia

Fun little game. Games vary widely with randoms, though.

I played it long before the popularity burst, so seeing it take off was cool and I picked it back up for a few matches.

I've never played it and probably never will. But my kid is playing it now with his cousins and randoms. I bought it for him the other day and he seems to be having a blast.

Played it a few times with some friends and some people we snagged from our WoW classic guild. It's...fine? The rest of the group seems pretty addicted but I don't feel super compelled to play much more. Fun, just maybe not for me ultimately. Certainly a good time for 5 bucks though. Everyone got their money's worth the first night.

i totally see the appeal, i think the community and game and art and stuff is awesome. But its mafia, and i hate mafia and it stresses me out lmfao

I think it's amazing the first few times you play it with friends and use discord. But only in those conditions. As everyone gets better it starts to lose the appeal and depending on the friend group people can get less forgiving and chill. Feels like after 4 or 5 multi-hour play sessions the same players can start to get in a rut.

My guess is there's probably a couple more months were it will be huge... and then it's a race between the Among Us devs to introduce new mechanics/maps/etc and knock-off devs who will try to capitalize on the hype and launch a competitor.

It's fun with friends, boring with randoms. Amazing meme potential though...

I installed the game but still haven't played it. I'm a terrible liar, so based on the memes, I'm guessing I won't do great.

I think what's special about this game is that it's introducing a lot of people to social deception games for the first time. Trouble in Terrorist Town, Secret Hitler, Mafia, Werewolf, etc. have always been around, but most people don't mnow/understand those.

I have nobody to play it with, but I think the concept is fun and have seen a few YouTube videos of streamers playing.
