G'damnit, I was waiting for this, but after being purchased by Microsoft I bought the game on psn as soon as it went on sale thinking that it'd be the last chance to buy the game discounted.

No, you're wrong on this one I'm afraid. Hellblade uses binaural audio (like ASMR), you need to use headphones for the effect to work. It was designed for headphones, and it even tells you to use headphones when you start the game. This has nothing to do with how good your speakers are, how many you have, or how powerful your sub is.
