These people were always with us, but before YouTube they were relegated to ranting at strangers in pubs or holding weird little meetings with like maybe a dozen likeminded weirdos. Now they can find each other.
There's definitely more than there used to be. And they're more open than they were. I can say in the last month I had six or seven different conversations with seemingly normal people, some who I'd known a while, who now felt emboldened to tell me all about their fave Youtube conspiracies, about Muslims, about RFID chips, fake gobal warming, the loonie left, etc etc
