My office is going WFH starting on the 23rd. We do secretarial/word processing/clerical work. We've never done this before and management is freaking out. Their own fault, as we are yet another example of a place where WFH should have been common already. We test this week with a few people from each shift at home. I kind of hope that they speed things up and I don't have to go back after tonight. It's going to be at least a few months.
Originally thought I'd save some gas money, as I have a long commute. But then I remembered that the perk of going to an office is that they blast the AC. My place gets scorching hot in the summer, and I don't want to be uncomfortable while working, so my electric bill will likely offset. All of this is assuming that things still stay somewhat normal in regards to electric companies etc.
Of course, bitching about the AC is the last anyone wants to hear now. I realize my situation is far better than many. I wish everyone the best.
