So you'd choose closer to nothing? I hard disagree with that.

See, it's like water to me. If you always have enough, and even too much, you never really appreciated the taste of that very simple drink. But when you're thirsty? You will enjoy every drop of your drink (as long as it's drinkable ofc).

In my metaphor, the undrinkable water was Halo 5. Halo Infinite (and to some degree, Halo Wars 2 actually) feels like a fresh and gorgeous drink a water after being thirsty, and I'm fully enjoying the drink.

I probably wouldn't feel like this if I got too much Halo Content during those 6 years, especially if it was on the same line as Halo 5 (personal opinion ofc, I know it has its fans).

Regarding sells, you could indeed make a parallel with Assassin's Creed, dropping a game very year or 2, and the latest one is the best selling in the serie, but as a fan, I got an overdose of this saga, and I'm kind of glad I don't feel the same regarding Halo.

See FUNKNOWN iXi , I told you earlier you could leave for 2 weeks without having to worry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder why they didn't just split the teams 50/50 with bots and people? Not sure what kinda info you can gather from a gameplay perspective on 4 real people thrashing bots every match.

I mean the main priority for this go seems to be stability, performance, and overall feel. You don't need real people vs real people for that quite yet. I'm fine with this first flight being bots. Let me get my sea legs, see how it feels, try out the higher level bots, and then I can start thrashing the masses.

I don't mind this in a vacuum as a technical preview but I feel it's not in the best interest of the game to have bot matches as your first large chunk of gameplay. Players versus players would have made for better viewing with streamers.

Way I see it is this is a way to get people used to the maps, weapons mechanics.

Once PvP is unlocked people aren't fumbling around confused or trying to test shit in matches

You guys are acting like it'll take you more than 10 minutes to figure out the game. It's still Halo, lol.

Like Moose said, I just don't see bot matches getting good word of mouth going, or the hype train rolling. But ah well…

IMO, if they're actually using the flights to test stuff, this... makes a lot of sense as a starting point. It's new stuff, it's what you'd want to stress test.

Cant wait for the "wow halo is so fun I never knew!" impressions when people go 28-3 in a bot slayer match.

And then cry how the game is unbalanced when they get trounced in PvP

Anyone into Mondo posters and screenprints, the Yoroi poster is up for a limited time/run . Much prefer the limited runs, pretty much the only way to ever get a Mondo poster without resorting to ebay.

highly recommend SplitGate (if the servers aren't overloaded, lol)

Scratching that Halo itch, and the dynamic with portals is the coolest thing ever -- forget grapple hooks, I want this in Halo

Splitgate is decent.

Map design is a bit crap though - Most of the interior maps are complete messes. The only decent interior map is the one which is clearly using Midship as inspiration.

Also, the combination of being able to shoot through portal and not being able to see through other players portals creates some really trash gameplay.

They should remove the ability to shoot through portals if they're not going to let you see through any but your own.

I was never into Halo: CE as much as some folk, considering I played Halo 2 before I played CE. I typically steer clear of CE multiplayer as I've always thought I wasn't that into it but I've been playing CE matchmaking these days and I'm having a lot of fun. And by that, I mostly mean sniping on Hang 'Em High in CTF.

Sucks BTB on CE feels dead though in MCC. That's like the most classic Halo can get and the one part of CE multiplayer I never minded but it feels like no one is playing it.

BTB is a mess in CE, Pistol beats everything on the huge maps, including vehicles, and the spawns are extra wack when not CTF. When CTF does come up it feels like the best strategy is just to constantly rush the flag (because it takes forever to even get there on those massive PC maps) and escape on your own since most players don't realize flagbearers can drive vehicles themselves. Especially since the slightest nudge from a Ghost can murder any player, including your teammates, so you might as well rush them straight into Sidewinder's bases

So I've been playing a lot of Splitgate today.

It's funny how much they've ripped off of Halo, lol. There's the obvious stuff like the BR and Team Swat.

But there are also a fair few maps which are very clearly "remakes" of Halo maps. There's the midship inspired map which is decent then there's a lockout type map which is trash.

The worst offender though - they made a rip of sword base. And it's about as bad as the map which inspired it.

Also, similarly to Halo, Splitgate is a hell of a lot better without the radar.

Playing bots in Pokémon Unite is one of the most mind numbing things I've experienced. I know Staten claims their bots are intelligent and fun to fight, but I find it hard to believe, tbh. Guess we'll see.

Just copy/paste that Elite AI, boom, donezo
Well I think it would be a lot more technical than that

Like I think they would at least need to physically print out the code and then photo copy each page to feed that back into another computer through the disk drive page by page
it's hard to find computers that can hold that many pages inside the case

Even if the bots are complete garbage, having player-shaped objects I could practice with the sniper again would be extremely useful, because I cannot land a sniper headshot to save my life. In normal games, I'm worried about wasting the shot and just go for the guaranteed bodyshot damage, and in sniper gamemodes, everyone dials headshots in well before me.

Does anyone have any tips to landing headshots with a mouse? Do you try and keep the crosshair at head level? Do you quick scope in to just the first zoom, zoom in all the way, or stay unzoomed? Do you just fire the second you see someone in normal matches, or wait for a guaranteed headshot? I just can't make the headshots work in MCC.

I was under the impression bots would probably replace JIP, since the community seems to hate it.

I'm mostly curious to see how bots will react to player's actions, like, what if you achieve to get out of the boundaries of the map, what will the bots do? Turning all around the map? What if you find a spot within the map where you can't be seen but not out of boundaries? What will they do if players find a glitch to let bots spawn without weapon?

And also, for now we're talking about Slayer Bot gametype, but I wonder also how the bots will play with the different gametype other than Slayer we're going to have during the duration of the Flight, I'm sure DefendTheHouse will have plenty of content to play with for their Mythbuster videos.

Will bots throw grenades at red dots on their radar without regard for their teammates? Will they even have radar, and react to it?

Will friendly fire be enabled in playlists with bots? I imagine griefers will team kill bots, will that count against score? Can bots.... hurt teammates? Can we boot bots? Can bots boot us?

So many questions.

You left off the biggie, will bots team shoot, or even betray me, for picking up "their sniper rifle"?

I tweeted about this a day or two ago lol I think it'll be interesting. Will team betrayals/griefing be a bigger issue with bots? I imagine teammates shooting bots that have been damaged will be much worse than it is with live players in every slot on the team.

Although, it would be cool as fuck if they knew you were the one that finished them off and respawned and just ran up and meleed you lmao

I could never get into the servers, am really hoping I can tomorrow!

As for bots in Halo, I have to say I am not a fan, seems less satisfying to be getting great kills if you later find out it was against bots. There is something about knowing there is a human on the other side of the controller that makes it all worth it.

Quitters are a problem but I hope bots are used sparingly and we don't end up having them in 30% of games or something.

Either way excited for the beta, will be cool to finally jump back on Halo. Been playing the MCC a bit lately and its still so good.

I am curious how bots will handle objectives.
If they have basic logic:
Bomb not in procession > play defense near base
Bomb in procession by teammate > escort teammate
Then they're already smarter than 90% of the dumb fucks I play with in MM.

truuuueeee at the last part lol

Hell if they just blindly fall on the objective before clearing enemies they will be on par.

I want a competitive playlist in MCC that has all the Halo games. I want that ranked. Who's the best at all (or 'most') of em. Why? Because. And also: the ranked playlists in MCC are poop.

Otherwise it might be too late in the week?

It's never too late for 343 Industries, I mean, most of the time, you were aware you were accepted within the MCC Flight the day the Flight was available so, that wouldn't surprise we would learn when/who is in the Alpha Ring the day before it's available.

As of for Steam, I've never tried Flight for MCC on it, so I don't know how it's working, but at least, the Key seem available for this package, and ready to be sent whenever they want to:

I guess they will keep their words when they said it would be okay for this weekend, so you should feel okay seeing if you're in before Saturday anyway?

You're totally right man, I can't think of a time that I had more than maybe a day's notice. This is looking like it's going to follow the same general process, so it might be one of those things that happens the day of lol

I think the biggest tell is going to be the stream reveal of the build we're going to test, and I legitimately cannot wait to see that, even if I don't make it in. Just some genuine gameplay would be nice to see lol
I hope they do the MP/Flight stream soon then
lmao, yeah what you said

If it's happening this weekend at all I'm not really getting my hopes up for anything earlier than Friday for both invitations and stream
