Sony obviously paid them to say all this nonsense to make Xbox look bad, typical Sony.
Ok , explain me what they mean by Xbox having no early access programme? They don't know abt game preview?

"Of course, of course. Right now, our focus is the PlayStation 4. Once it is out and we're happy with the state of it on PS4, we're always open to exploring other platforms. It's just, for right now in the short-term, our focus is PS4."
So how bad did Sony fuck up by letting these folks go? Ah, well, there's no guarantee this would be the same game, hitting at this same moment, if they had kept a hold. Like others have already said, 'grats to Daybreak.
Someone here said that their excuse is no EA programme for Xbox
Kind of crazy if you think about it, Sony had these guys AND Brendan Greene (PlayerUnknown) in the pocket and got rid of them.
Could you imagine if they were paying attention to this game and actually tossed some money at the project back then instead of letting it drag? The entire Battle Royale landscape would've been COMPLETELY different right now, they could've hired him on fulltime and PUBG wouldn't even have existed. That is completely nuts.
lol BS. Xbox is the only console which offers proper early access for games. Sony obviously paid them to say all this nonsense to make Xbox look bad, typical Sony.
Also this free to play, so not a big deal if it reaches 10m on platform with 80m users.
All your points are extemely valid and the reason why the game completely died on PC when a better successor came out (PUBG at the time). Of course at the time it wasn't free to play, maybe that's the difference.I don't get it. I think it's a bit crappy. Don't get me wrong, it's fun enough for a bit with friends, but then most games are inherently amusing when you add your friends into the mix.
Generally;
- it looks bad. Graphics are horrible.
- shooting mechanics feel all wrong to me, clunky, glitchy.
- collision detection is awful. Shooting people who don't die, explosive bolts that don't kill people, entire clips into people who dont die, cars that refuse to run people over. The times I've run someone down with my car and nothing has happened. I squashed some guy against a building with my car and he stood glitched in the bonnet and shot me dead.
- no interesting physics to speak of, enemies just slump to the floor regardless how they die, the world is very inconsistent; this wooden fence can be driven through, that wooden bench stops you like a solid wall, glass doesn't break etc.
- loot is really boring. No interesting guns, armour, clothing. It's the same few items over and over again, wow another red bike helmet, wow another hellfire.
- worth saying how bad it looks again. It's graphically one of the worst games I've played in recent times. Really takes me out of the experience with how shittily textured everything is, how barren the world is.
- every single match ends up with a number of people driving circles around each other in cars. Every time. I've never had a match end differently.
Good stuff is that is seems to connect quite quickly, and it runs well, but everything else just seems so utterly basic and crappy and unremarkable. I must be missing what the appeal is. I assume it will get more polished in time, but right now.....ehhhhhh.
I'm actually liking how i'm not itching to buy skins because of the horrible graphics and animation this game has, but i still play it regularly for fun. It's fun now and again, but updates are too infrequent, there's little to work towards, and the monetized stuff is extremely pricey.
Off topic: Is everquest Next still a thing? Did daybreak can it?

They actually made a good decision. This company was in the red and until this success it looked like H1Z1 was in development hell. Not to mention they canceled a lot of their heavy hitters. I was actually expecting them to fold until this. Although there's no way to know just how much they're making on this game. If it justifies the years of development and redevelopment. So how bad did Sony fuck up by letting these folks go? Once a Sony game. But they sold it. Congrats to Daybreak Games.
It's kind of crazy after how their original fanbase revolted with the whole renaming saga and abandoning the original H1Z1.
