Do people brand everything nowadays confrontational? Are we living in a world were people are so soft they get offended over the slightest of things?
What are you trying to pull here?

you probably make worse threads, or none at all. thanks for your contribution. i got blocked by a4 games for questioning their egs bullshit.I mean, douchey reply but you don't see me making a ResetEra thread complaining about IGN blocking me
Yes. Because the shitty publisher developed the game. OP didnt tweet THQGamers trusting these pedos in the first place is sus anyway
Fuck THQ
To be fair, it's hard because there are two entities labeled THQn at play here.
But I'd say we're more responsible to keep the reminder alive that this company actively engaged in a place that harms children. If you don't want to associate with that, you better put your hands up and explain how your particular part in that company aren't involved (as others have done so), but I'm not willing to be silent just so people can enjoy their video games guilt free.
If THQn comes up, this will come up, and that's how it should be until appropriate action is taken. Full stop.
Am I being confrontational?
I don't think that justifies an achievement that's just bad and not fun to accomplish. I've always been of the opinion that achievements should be tied to doing sick rad shit. An example of what I mean is the achievements in Mirror's Edge that you get for pulling of complex and precise maneuvers. To be fair, grinding for an achievement should be expected, these are made for completionists, if you just want to beat the game you don't have to do it.
There are better ways than calling developers for pedos. That's entirely the wrong way to go about it. Full stop. There's no defense good enough to justify that here, no matter what some THQ arsehat execs did.
2.) Regardless if they have been patching farming spots or overpowered stuff, Achievements are not necessary. And you shouldn't feel like you need to do one if you think it's specifically a badly designed one. I never go out of my way to do any tedious achievement

On the other end of things we have achievements like those in the souls series, games I love, where you get your achievements by progressing through the game or doing something mundane like leveling a weapon fully through the different upgrade material trees. It's just not fulfilling in any way.
Obviously the former example is much harder to do, and that's why many games have grinding achievements or progression achievements, but that's why I think making achievements be required for your game on most consoles was a bad move.
Extremely bad answer from them. What the hell? I was looking into purchasing this game on 20 bucks on a future sale, but if it's a grindfest, they patch farming, and then they're extremely douchebags like that then I won't even bother.
THQ Nordic maybe have published the game that Gunfire Games made, but they are not their "parent company".

There's a Clerks joke in here somewhere.
I got no fuckin idea
yeah that's why PC gaming is niceTo add, if the grinding really is as bad as you say OP, cheat engine is right there for you.
To be fair, getting back to the topic at hand, you did sort of come across as saying, "man this is fruitless and mindless, a real definite flaw and something that should be fixed. Do you guys have any advice on how to cheese this so I don't have to waste my time?"
I'm not saying that that was your direct tone or meaning, but that's definitely how it looks. Twitter is no place for nuance.
Not to say that their response was great, but if it were me, my response would have been no response. OR...a link to gamefaqs or something.

I don't know it does seem like a game design flaw if there is no fun way to reach a certain level to get an achievement. Gamers finding a quicker way to grind isn't some new thing. To be fair, getting back to the topic at hand, you did sort of come across as saying, "man this is fruitless and mindless, a real definite flaw and something that should be fixed. Their response legit sounds like
You cheated not only the game, but yourself.
You didn't grow.
You didn't improve.
You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference.
Eeeeeh they didn't owe you a response, should have just dropped it when they responded the way they did.
Why would I back down when they reply with something like that. If they didn't owe me a response, then they shouldn't have replied at all. Instead they replied with a condescending tweet. I bought their game and dlc and supported them day 1. This isn't the way they should reply to people who play their games. How hard would it be for them to say anything helpful at all.

Holy shit.
Nah, fuck that. OP was right pushing back, their initial reply was rude as hell. Who gives a shit if he gets blocked by some random dev?Because nothing helpful was going to come of it. They clearly expressed to you that they didn't care, unfortunately, so pressing the topic further wasn't going to get anywhere. They already have your money, and they're condescending on Twitter; might have to think twice before going in on their next project.

Can someone explain gunfire games's relation to the game and THQN? I don't know the story there (obviously know the THQN 8chan story)
Are you showing the whole message chain, or are you leaving out the parts where you were badgering them about it?
Because the latter is usually how these things shake out.
YASSSI miss when companies were professional robots on twitter, I hate this sassy corporate twitter shit.

I mean I don't like Pitchford at all either, but I'm pretty sure he was asking to those people who *ARE* going to buy BL3Developers always say they want to interact with their customers but any feedback always seems to fall on deaf ears. Randy Pitchford blocked me yesterday when he asked what platform we were going to play borderlands 3 on. I said I couldn't support them after the EGS issue, and even apologized for it. He gave me a snarky ass answer and blocked me. Lol like wtf? I wasn't rude, I didn't say anything inflammatory, I answered the question he asked. If you don't want people to answer you honestly then don't ask. For all the y'all about gamers being entitled, these guys sure are thin skinned bitches.
who cares
its ok if you dont like their game and you're not entitled to them wanting to talk to you about how bad you think (a part of) their game is indefinitely.
Gonna side with OP here. Grinding levels isn't even an achievement, it's just work. This thread actually has me thinking about making a thread on achievement design again and how poorly thought out it is by most developers.
Whined about optional activity in game directly at developers, got blocked. What gives? They probably get hundreds of these a day, and blocking can stop people from doing it over and over.
