Wait, this game has an active OT? I finished the game a few days ago and actually wanted to open a LttP thread. Is that okay if a game has an active OT?
Oof, those Sunhi gifs are gorgeous. Thank you so much for that!
Feel free to make the thread, it has been almost a year after all.
We made an OT just because of the whole new site situation, if you want to make an LTTP go for it, the games been out for awhile, and you'll get more people reading what you say and sharing their opinions if you made a thread.Wait, this game has an active OT? I see, thanks. I'm still writing everything down (I'm super slow at writing lol). Oh right, challenges. I thought treasure hunts.
I basically send all my challenges, good scores and bad scores. I need the tokens, too, you know. So if my best score beats yours, I'm happy.
The main things from the original that are important.
How the original place Kat is from works, there's a top area, bottom area, and area between them, but's not likethe area in GR2 with the rich, poor, and middle class.
Some of Kat's origins is in 1
Who Alias is.
Who Syd and Raven are and what their story is.
Cynthia
I don't think any of these are really explaiend well in 2 to people who have never played the first.
I guess I can see where you're coming from. It's a shame the game doesn't outright gives you the score or time to beat before the challenge starts.I guess I was thinking more about the people in the Dusty Farming 2.0 group who were supposed to be working together to get tokens by intentionally tying challenge fights and what not. I had a few challenges where people would just attack one enemy and then relent, and I tied them as expected, and then a bunch of challenges where people would just attack everything in sight and I'd realize too late.
I don't want to be a dick so I don't really want to do that to other people intentionally but it's the classic prisoner's dilemma where I'm probably going to have to start being cutthroat with challenges if I don't want to constantly take losses.
According to what I've read, they don't start until chapter 5, though I think you get the camera earlier so may get some treasures before then. Check out this thread on Reddit, it's basically what I followed: https://www.reddit.com/r/gravityrus..._collecting_dusty_tokens_for_beginners_how_i/Can anyone tell me how to get the tokens? I'm at the beginning where I'm gather ducks from the dock in Chapter 2.
Sunhi pls.
The biggest thing is a couple of costumes and a gem that gives you unlimited gravity juice at the cost of reduced damage output. Aside from that, the treasure hunts are one of my favourite parts of the game.Sunhi pls.
Guys, I'm going to be picking the game up soon and I know the servers close in a couple of weeks so I wouldn't be able to collect tokens if I wait. But what exactly does this lock me out of getting/ doing?
You won't get 3 costumes but two of them are kinda meh since they are only small variations of costumes you can get anyway.Sunhi pls.

You can't do treasure hunts which is the biggest shame, it's pretty fun. Also won't be able to compete on challenges with other people.
There are some smaller rewards also but they are pretty much forgettable.
Okay, that doesn't sound so bad, I guess the gem would be useful if I was looking to 100% or something. Not too bothered about the costumes after looking them up. Abu_Omar86 (damn you Sony, i want to change my PSN name)
Are they currency, or do you unlock these as you collect them, so 6000 would net you everything?

I'd say the gem is the only reason to really go for them, the worker uniform is very nice but it doesn't need many so if you don't want the gem I wouldn't worry about going any further than that.Okay, that doesn't sound so bad, I guess the gem would be useful if I was looking to 100% or something. It's not a grind at all. Even with casual play, you can get the maximum of tokens needed (6000) within little more than a week. Everyone is playing the game right now, so there's a lot of activity.I have owned the game since Day One but it got in line behind Yakuza...which got behind BOTW. Which got behind etc etc etc. I haven't even started it up yet.
Losing access to these items would eat me alive if I started the game in the future. I am sure this has been answered but is this a strenuous grind? Do I need to ignore the actual game and chase coins?
That's awesome, thank you! I'll dive in tomorrow. It's not a grind at all. Even with casual play, you can get the maximum of tokens needed (6000) within little more than a week. Everyone is playing the game right now, so there's a lot of activity.
As long as you do the daily treasure hunts, complete challenge missions (always upload your results) and rate other people's photos, you will be fine. I would argue doing this is not ignoring the game, it's playing the game the way it's meant to be played. Explore, experiment and have fun.
The more I play the game, the more I feel Sony, or whoever made the decision to shut down the servers, is robbing the game of gameplay elements that are more than just a fun extra.
School 1.0's not bad, either. You'll also need at least 4,000 to not miss out on any gestures for photos/just messing around (may as well go for it, since you'll get additional ones as treasure hunt and side mission rewards along the way). Shifter 1.0 and the Unlimited Potential talisman are more about bragging rights and completionism than anything else, though.I'd say the gem is the only reason to really go for them, the worker uniform is very nice but it doesn't need many so if you don't want the gem I wouldn't worry about going any further than that.
I got 1000 tokens today and I only played an hour or so. Aside from the treasure hunts, most of that time was spent doing a story mission. Seriously, once you sent a bunch of challenges and treasure hints, the tokens will roll in by themselves. Maybe not at first, but once you upgraded some of your abilities and get better at the game, you'll start to notice a difference.
That said, none of my photos has been rated yet, at least not as nice. I've been dilligently uploading them at popular spots, but no luck so far. Meanwhile, I got to rate a photo by someone (or, well, their Kat) wearing the PSO costume. I was tempted to give it the lesser rating, but I guess that would be petty. I'm honestly not sure what annoys me about that outfit. Maybe it's the leg guards.
Jumping? Well, I just unlocked Lunar style and man, it plays totally different. I think there's a lot of potential there, but I will need a lot of practice. Wall jumping through the streets is fun, though.
Oh, and Wormhole Kick > Gravity Kick. I can't deal with the latter at all in this game. The targeting circle acts way too erratic, making me fly over enemies all the time, even ones that hardly move. At least the former seems to home in on enemies and you can chain easier.
The creator is notorious for sacrificing gameplay to involve feelings or prove a point. Just look at Silent Hill 2's first pyramid head encounter.I have to say, that part with the... uh, let's call it "ice queen" (to remain as vague as possible) dragged on for fucking ever and I hated it. Lowest point of the game for me.

Dusty token farming 2.0
There are loads of people that draw the first combat challenge so everyone gets 50 points & people who have already got 6000 tokens are sending out slow races to intentionally lose to help others.
I'm not sure if we have enough interest in a photo mode OT here but I do remember the thread you're talking about and I did see some awesome shots in there. You have some good shots in your album too. Except this sad bin Kat lolThe old place had a photo mode OT, but since this one doesn't I'll just post a link to my good pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/4opJJ
