I have the game on disc but I would rather play it 'fully digitally'.
Not all Series S|X games need to be run from the internal SSD. Some enhanced games can be run off an external HDD.
Dynamic res I believe and extremely soft on XBox after the first patch to fix the frame rate.

These are not enhanced games. They are native Xbox series/ PS5 games.
Very likely. I think all of the new ways to play will target 60fps at least but the high frame rate will be a 120fps target. Should be pretty doable, my mid-range gaming laptop from the year RE2R came out (2019) could run very reliably in the 90-120 range at high-ish settings (granted it was limited to 1080p resolution too). I think these consoles are better than that laptop.

not on console. They were a bit above 1440p with fps drops iirc (RE3 moreso than 2)

Capcom said they have no plans for physical releases but I'm holding out hope.
RE3 was native 4K on the One X from what I remember, but the framerate was dropping a lot, especially in cutscenes so they downed the resolution. It looked pretty nice, will be good to see it back to 4K again.
They probably just meant they didn't have any planned right now, but will definitely take advantage of more visibility later on, IE a budget re-release or getting eyes at Christmas.

This isn't true, at least on Xbox. With Smart Delivery the current version of your games will update to the native Series S|X versions.
The upgrade is available on Xbox already. At least for Resident Evil 2. Just put the disc in right now and it's asking to upgrade.
