Oh i get what he's saying, but taking it as it is, its a pretty ludicrous statement.I think all the editor wants to say is that we are looking at a best-in-class and polished, yet very detailed, experience. It's not that hard imo (and even stated so in the full quote)

LOL no way. No fucking way. Not in game. Nope nope NOPE
Wot in fuck? There's no way that's in game, if it is I want to know who at Playground is making blood sacrifices.
It's a weird and out of place reference, as many also commented here. The quote makes perfect sense. The Witcher 3 is thought of as being the best in class, the standard to which other open world role playing games are measured.
Thats what that person thinks Forza Horizon 4 is shaping up to be.
Ralph and the team truly are...
The Witcher 3 had you plough through beds; Forza has you ploughing through fields. Truly The Witcher 3 of racing games.
Yeah, my problem with most open world games is that there's no real hook that changes things enough to keep me interested. That's certainly not going to be an issue here.I wasn't aware the seasons were progress gated, sounds like a good hook to push you through the career.

Anyway, yes, FH4 seems not only the best title of the franchise, but probably the best racing game ever made. (and THAT could have been a proper quote)
Just change it to "astonishingly beautiful and incredibly unique" so we can concentrate on the game again - and not people not reading the full quote. Thanks! This is not a thread about the choice of headline for a game's preview.
Don't get lost in the semantics and stay on-topic.

It will. Like last year some arguments like "we expect Forza to be good so nothing to see here"Forza Horizon and especially Forza Horizon 3 got robbed from so many GOTY awards because they're racing games. I really hope this doesn't happen again here.

You're surprised Kiekura directed a slanted comment toward an Xbox exclusive?
But that just makes it all the worse. These games got critical acclaim yet when it actually came down to GOTY voting they were completely pushed aside.

A lot of genres tend to get overlooked outside of their specific awards. Racing, sports, fighting, strategy, simulation etc. They can be as good as anything else but at the end of the day GOTY awards tend to go to action/adventure games, shooters and RPGs.

What does RDR2, GOW and the prospect of being game of the year have to do with this thread?
You literally just made the offhand comment equivalent to "hey this game looks good but my favorite exclusive will win more awards"
Wait... Lonely on a swing!?The quote makes perfect sense. The Witcher 3 is thought of as being the best in class, the standard to which other open world role playing games are measured.

Good heavens.
I wanna see playground games making open world game that isn't racing. Those graphics are so god dam nice looking
I've never bought a racing sim in my life. Definitely getting this one.
You can see Brightwood in that clip.
