was already a thing with FF56. Not new. edit: oh, the 'full page' thing might be tho.
However, the 'reader view' in the address bar is, and it's kinda 'whoa'
It's way faster than having to upload to any host before posting it around the internet.
Honestly they should be touting this WAY more.
Even the add-ons I used previously had issues sometimes. This works pretty seamlessly and simply. Also you can screenshot an entire webpage at once, which is pretty nifty. You previously had to install add-ons to do that.
But that's built into the browser already, has been for years. You don't need an add-on for that.
Most likely your appdata folder in Windows got a bit corrupted if you did an inplace upgrade. I bet a fresh install will fix it. Then import over your bookmarks and stuff after you confirm it works. Had a similar issue with Vivaldi.
Can I watch 1080p Netflix on this new Firefox?
Or still limited to 720p like Chrome? (On Windows 10 btw. Yes I know Edge supports up to 4k but switching browsers is annoying :p)
why do you need 120 tabs open? This makes no sense. My chrome with 2 tabs open to reddit and era is sitting at 450MB while Firefox with 120+ tabs open (yes, that many) is at a mere 600MB. Down from the usual 3GB it would normally be at before crashing.
What is everyone's thoughts on uMatrix? Which is from the same publisher of uBlock Origin, iirc. Any better or worse than the tried and tested NoScript?
What? That's blatantly false. It absolutely does not do that. You don't have it enabled, plain and simple.Nah, I don't trust that capability. If you have Firefox closed and then happen to click on something outside the browser that'll open it back up, that one tab will overwrite whatever your previous session was.
Reader view's been there a long time. However, the 'reader view' in the address bar is, and it's kinda 'whoa'
Turning off tracking protection fixed it for me.
Anyone know how to restore the classic Bookmark Menu functionality/appearance? I changed my icon set to look like this:(from here, v1.5.9, and would like the uncoloured bookmark icon for when I'm visiting a page I don't have bookmarked, and the blue bookmark icon when visiting a page that is bookmarked. Currently it looks like this for all pages I visit:
Would also appreciate it if someone knows how to add the "Bookmark this page" option back in.
Open Menu (top-right button) > Options > Browsing > Use smooth scrolling
There's no active sync with Google account. You can import things from Chrome, though, and Firefox has its own sync mechanism.Anything to sync everything with my google account - passwords, history, bookmarks, etc?
hmmm. doesnt feel as good as chrome for some reasonOpen Menu (top-right button) > Options > Browsing > Use smooth scrolling
Yeah, in the Options, set "When Firefox starts" to "Show your windows and tabs from last time." You can also open the menu and click "Restore Previous Session."
