At least it can't be as bad as the film they made, United Passions, currently sitting at a Metacritic of 1.
In North America, the film was an instant box office bomb. It opened on Friday, 5 June 2015, and grossed a mere $319 on its opening day from 10 theaters in New York..., followed by an even worse $288 on Saturday.
Someone can correct me, but I feel like FIFA was way behind Winning Eleven/Pro Evo until they started to copy many of its best features.
It still won on sales, but the actual gameplay was kind of shit in comparison until they pulled the typical EA move of copying and spending their competition out of the market.
I like that this is not even the most stupid thing Infantino has said this week. Dude has a very special talent for giving the most insane declarations imaginable. It's impressive really.

Did FIFA get a cut off EAs billions from FUT?Bruh
It's fifa
Easier for it to have a MTX for button presses you need to do than having no mtx whatsoever

EA has a lot of licenses and non of those were ever part of the FIFA license. PES can't compete on that front.Well that was pretty much the only thing FIFA had going for it compared with ISS/PES.
I mean Konami is kind of dead as a gaming company and FIFA did make some really good games as well. There was a time, many many years ago that this was indeed the case, the PS2 era. I still have PES3 with Colina on the cover.
But PS3 era onwards, Konami kept dropping the ball. At one point they tried something radical and even got the FOX Engine (yes that one). It did not help, and imo made things worse.
They still have potential but the game just isn't as fun. During PS3 / PS4 and now PS5, FIFA is much more superior. Even in a bad year FIFA is still better.
I liked FIFA a lot on the PS4 and PS5. It can be a little stiff for my tastes (I still look bad with nostalgia on the PS2 PES games) but its still a lot of fun to play a multiplayer match with my son or a friend.FIFA's gameplay is still terrible imo, it never felt like a real football game.
PES 2013-2020 had way better offline gameplay than FIFA 13-23
The only good thing about FIFA is FUT (and the presentation)
I hope the new football game Infantino is talking about will be a serious AAA with good football gameplay.
But let's be real it's 100% another "E-sport gameplay" casino game that won't threaten EA
EA still has all the licenses (player, leagues, clubs, ...) and now they got more freedom, because FIFA doesn't get to tell them what is acceptable and what's not. The next game won't have FIFA or world cup branding. Those are the only downsides, if you want to even call them downsides.
"Our players tell us they want more modes of play, different things beyond 11v11 and different types of gameplay. I would tell you, it's been a fight to get FIFA to acknowledge the types of things that we want to create, because they say our licence only covers certain categories.
"Our players tell us they want more cultural and commercial brands relevant to them in their markets, more deeply embedded in the game... brands like Nike. But because FIFA has a relationship with Adidas, we are not able to do that.

fifa mobile nft lootbox edition
also known as: Endless Trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah you're right, I thought they were a package deal, but indeed something like FIFPRO is more important than having FIFA in your name. I cannot really imagine that an official FIFA game won't have the major tournaments and players though.EA has a lot of licenses and non of those were ever part of the FIFA license. PES can't compete on that front.
