Marko loves Max and hates Ric.
Marko loves Max and hates Ric.
That explains why they haven't named a replacement yet!
I wonder if Horner had got whiff of this last race, and it gave extra venom to his comments when Max's retirement happened.
Haha indeed, ouch. His comments about buying a quality product from Renault and not getting it.
Which is bullshit, because it's RBR who have been stubborn in not being willing to put in the upgraded whatever-it-is to improve reliability. If they think they're going to get better reliability out of a Honda which they'll also push to the limit, they're fucking kidding. His comments about buying a quality product from Renault and not getting it.
I'm with you. I'm happy to be done with them and the damn Dr. Can't wait to get some Ricciardo Renault gear. I think it's a good move too with Prost as a mentor who I believe had a similar style to Dan. Consistent and always setup his car for the race where the points are won. They'll be a good fit together.Which is bullshit, because it's RBR who have been stubborn in not being willing to put in the upgraded whatever-it-is to improve reliability. I almost wonder if RBR will experience a McL-esque downturn.
But the more I think about it though, the more I reckon Danny has made the right move. It'll be my first time in a while that I won't be going for a Red Bull driver, because it's the first time in 10 years (ish?) they haven't had an Aussie racing for them.

100% in agreeance here. I'm now seriously thinking of going next year, whereas a week ago I couldn't have given a flying fuck.Melbourne going to be full of the appropriate yellow colour for the country in 2019.
Honestly, only reason I supported Red Bull was because of Webber and Danny Ric, even while the team were shitting on those two and making them defacto number 2s while spouting their "equal driver" bullshit.
I'm actually really happy to completely villainise the whole team from now on and not have to support them anymore. Absolutely hoping they have a big downturn.

Doesn't help when they generally don't favour the driver that nearly everyone likes over the one who's a bit of a nob, which they've now done twice lol
Let me guess, they have no idea what is Ferrari doing with their engine? ;PHad an interesting chat with a chap who works at Brixworth yesterday. Shan't go full Wax posting baseless rumour tho.

They do, but they don't know how to replicate it legally.Let me guess, they have no idea what is Ferrari doing with their engine? ;P

From what he said, they know ferrari aren't burning engine oil and they do know what's causing all the smoke.
Also swapped to steel pistons as the ally ones were tearing apart.
It's pretty obvious Wonderboy is the preferred driverI get Webber, but when was Danny ever a defacto number two driver?

Yes. They have been too tolerant on Max's shit towards Ric like Budapest last year.
There's way of going about it, especially after Danny rinsed 4x World champion Vettel in the same car. It's almost as if Red Bull prefers the better driver of the two they have. Stupid mistake.

I'm not a particular fan of that theory. When would Vettel have made that decision? He finished worse than Ricciardo throughout most of the season, including the beginning. And to trigger that clause, someone from a third team had to finish above him - which wasn't entirely in his control. In the year where only missing the top 4 spots in driver's championship allowed Vettel to go to Ferrari in the first place. Ric was able to beat a Vettel that did not want to perform because a) the car wasn't a winner anymore and b) he wanted out of his contract.
Ric would opt not to drive at all. Kvyat had nowhere to go and had to accept the situation. Danny won't do such thing.Dr. Marko needs to swap the drivers for the rest of the season. Gasly needs to show he's got the speed in a top car on a consistent basis and can push Verstappen. Red Bull Honda can't be going into next season with a one driver team like Toro Rosso and McLaren this year.
I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure that Ricciardo's contract would specify that this isn't possible ;)Dr. Marko needs to swap the drivers for the rest of the season.
That's a very convenient excuse. In the year where only missing the top 4 spots in driver's championship allowed Vettel to go to Ferrari in the first place. Ric was able to beat a Vettel that did not want to perform because a) the car wasn't a winner anymore and b) he wanted out of his contract.
And now Ricciardo is driving for Renault next year. How convenient for Vettel.
I'd also say as per Baku as well. VER was driving like a little shit and was clearly holding Danny up before the accident. Almost wonder if that was the tipping point for RIC when they were placing equal blame on both for that.Yes. They have been too tolerant on Max's shit towards Ric like Budapest last year.
I was only ever a fan of RBR because they had Australian drivers for the last 10 years. I like to think most fans follow drivers for the most part, with the exception of teams like Ferrari and the tifosi.
Because Ricciardo is the factually the superior driver or because he's a competitor?I don't think Vettel would've agreed to Ric ever joining Ferrari alongside him.
I think we all know Vettel has Kimi in his pocket and why chance not being the best driver.I'll never understand rooting for a single team over drivers.
