She's got a friend that called me "trash" because I come from a working class family.
Rich people who date lower class people face a bunch of discrimination from their rich peers. Happens even with relatives. The pressure is for sure higher.oh please. Lol.
Middle and lower class people also have expectations of who they should be, how they should act, and be with, this isn't exclusive to the rich. Many of these things are negative and we are as society trying to progress from.

I can date whoever I want, lad. Rich people often have it harder.Just stop it, pressure to who one goes out with or hang out with exist in all classes. Don't fall into the stereotype that poor people have no expectations of them from family, friends, and even people they do not know. Though typically its more on race, religion, and sexual orientation, rather than class when it comes to lower and middle class.
Interracial relations is a major one and while getting better, still has major social stigma attached to it.

Just stop it. Go outside and meet people.

I just wanted to update y'all. I showed her this thread and she said your comments helped her realize some ways she's out of touch. She has a positive attitude about it. Thanks everybody.
I'm probably gonna take her on some walks and show her a couple documentaries soon lol.
Funny thing. She took a class about Marxism in her last semester of college and wrote an essay on the "deserving" and "undeserving" poor.

One of us, one of us
There was a really great comic that I had once but I can't find it now... The gist was that it showed two people working hard to try and succeed. From their perspectives they were both working hard, but one succeeded while the other didn't. The reason was because they had a ton of support and money from their family and their connections. Something they didn't realize that they had, and something they also didn't realize that the person who didn't succeed didn't have.
It was great at showing the different perspectives and how both people are working hard and it's not necessarily the person who came from a poor family's fault they were waiting at the diner they were celebrating at.
