I managed to get 148 on tutorial 4. I think I'm satisfied with that now, I need to move on and see more of the game.
Yeah do that, i spent way to much time fiddling with first tasks.Yeah, think I'll be making a first pass over everything before trying to dive in to compete.
Nobody is using a chat of this group unfortunately ;/We also have a ZachEra group: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/zachera
How do you think I found swizzle? :P
This is why I love Zach games. I think Jeff Gerstmann said puzzle games should make you feel like a genius for figuring out the answer. These games do that... for three seconds. Then you see you're on the bottom of the leaderboard even though you were sure you nailed it.I'm not a programmer so I've been struggling a bit but slowly making my way through the beginning of the game. I just completed the first arm level which took me an embarrassingly long time but felt great once I got a solution :P
Some of the scores in this thread seem like witchcraft haha
Fixed it!God dammit, why does test have to change the value of the T register, I've been trying to do the Library project, but if only I had one extra register...
Do you mean 4 cycles per entry in the file?Any suggestion or hint how to make file to file copy below 4 cycles?
Do you need some spaghetti monster to synchronize this shit or there is smart low lines hack?
Reading a value from one file, sending it to the second EXA, then in this EXA saving it to the new file and moving at beginning of the loop.
Here are some hints:Reading a value from one file, sending it to the second EXA, then in this EXA saving it to the new file and moving at beginning of the loop.
Below 4 cycles per entry of course with validation of EOF/last M etc.
Hey that's me and my slow ass solution! In the end i did not use similarity in the last string in files, but "synchronized" it way differently ;p
There goes being happy about my score, i looked at reddit and somebody got 162 in this level :O
Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, I think what you are looking for is "COPY F M" and "COPY M F" respectively.
In other news, I just made a really complicated solution which has absolutely amazing throughput for the "Heart" mission... but only as long as the sequence has at least 4 entries. And I don't think it can be fixed while keeping the throughput. A lesson in making sure of requirements :P
You don't actually input the values. The values will change between test runs. The command "COPY F M" says "copy the value at the current position in the currently grabbed file into the M register" and then the other exa can read from the M register to get that value. Each time you read from F, the position in the file will move ahead by one, so that if a file contains "A, B, C, D" and you do COPY F M, COPY F M, COPY F M, COPY F M then the value that is copied into M will be A, then B, then C, then D.What am I suppose to copy though? It tells me to copy the values to exa 2 but I don't know what I'm suppose to tell the command box since it gives me a error message when I input the values.
That's cool. I was missing stuff like vertical editing. Though my use cases for that are mostly made obsolete byEXA syntax highlighting in Visual Studio Code

This one's way easier than TIS or Shenzhen. I'm getting decent relative scores this time too. Still unsure what Activity is - registers? occupied nodes?

lol, my first Library one was ugly. I did it with parallel workers but they kept running into each other / killing targets passing by, so I wound up just padding it out with NOOPs at random points until the timing happened to work (hence the size 95)
I'm sure there's a cleaner way to track the new file IDs and coordinate the retreat. That'll be a fun one to figure out later.
You miss only the blue and red glasses they give you, but they're cheaper if you buy them outright.I just learned there was a limited edition that is now sold out. :( Am I gonna miss out on a lot of the experience without the feelies? I have played a lot of Zachtronics games but never knew they did short printed special editions.
Cool, thank you.You miss only the blue and red glasses they give you, but they're cheaper if you buy them outright.
Yeah lolYou guys are way too good at this, I'm absolutely not adding you as friends to compare scores haha
