Saying that Republicans are stealing our taxes is unhelpful for progressives and particularly socialists. Taxes aren't something that are taken from us, taxes are a prerequisite for wages to be made in the first place. The government certainly misappropriates taxes and both democrats and republicans are guilty of that because they ALL allow redistribution of wealth (see: power and influence) to be funneled up to the wealthy elites. That said, this is why I support socialists like Ocasio-Cortez.
edit: Another way of putting it is that taxes are a good thing. Both Democrats and Republicans have a responsibility to regulate capitalism in order to make it at least somewhat fair. But people with money have the power and influence to essentially buy off the government to prevent that from happening, and both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of that.

That's a great way to look at it, it's just weird the way they keep bringing her up when they did in fact win against her. I know it's obviously done as projection for their own crimes but you would think their base at some point would say "why is she still a discussion point?" Again I know it's because they hate her with a burning passion for basically no real reason I just find the idea of the whole thing very strange.
