1. That's how you determine a success? By making new hardware features are abondon ones that don't work anymore. Yeah sure. And the fact there is no dual-screen successor says it all.
Even the PS3 was a failure with all the money it lost for Sony.
How do you know this? Last I heard the3DS wasn't dead, so there's no successor to announce. They've said Switch won't replace dedicated handhelds, so you can take this assumption off the table.
So for some reason you include PS Classic but not Switch, NES and SNES classic?
But they didn't lose money in the long run with the 3DS, just that year? Not like the PS3 in that respect.Read:

I disagree in the same sense that Sony turned things around with the PS3 but still lost loads of money.
I mean there are problems from this discussion but it's just funny that you think this. How do you know this? Last I heard the3DS wasn't dead, so there's no successor to announce. They've said Switch won't replace dedicated handhelds, so you can take this assumption off the table.
So PS1, PS2 and PS3 are all failures? The 3DS causing Nintendo to suffer actual financial loss is a good enough reason to count it as a failure
I disagree in the same sense that Sony turned things around with the PS3 but still lost loads of money.
Note: I am not including the Nintendo Switch with regards to the thread title so don't bother.
Has PC generations ?
I mean, Nintendo made lots of money with 3DS after the first year.I disagree in the same sense that Sony turned things around with the PS3 but still lost loads of money.

And the reason the 3DS fell so short of the DS was hugely in part due to the rise of mobile. That's not a failure, that's the market shifting. That's why the Switch is hybrid.
Also in what world are NES and SNES Classic failures
There's always a possible future where they bring out something that acts as a dual screen successor. Maybe not in the next 5 years but who knows.I mean there are problems from this discussion but it's just funny that you think this.
Also Xbox One, even selling not as well as PS4, is still WAY outpacing Xbox 360 sales. The 3Ds is a failure now because it didn't sell as well as the best selling console ever?

How did you forget about the classics when you mention their success when talking about the PS Classic
The thing is they didn't lose money overall with the 3DS. It ended up making them A LOT of money. If you view that as a failure you should apply for a job at activision.
Unlike the PS3, the 3DS made up all of the money that it initially lost over its life.I disagree in the same sense that Sony turned things around with the PS3 but still lost loads of money.
because it fits his narrative about failure. How did you forget about the classics when you mention their success when talking about the PS Classic
