I've enjoyed the early parts of Gotham Knights so far and despite its flaws can see it being a nice foundation for a great "sequel"/follow up game.

Their streaming tech can't even handle a motorcycle. Super flight is going to tear things to pieces.

They should just make a Ninja Turtles game. They're already halfway there.

If it's not Rocksteady keep Supes away from any WB dev team haha, but guess we'll have to wait and see, could be good

God of war combat in a superman game would be pretty awesome.

Flight is the only iffy thing to get around.

Gotham Knights is the best non-comics adaptations of the Batfamily characters so far, so I'm quite excited to see what the same devs can do with more DC characters. Gameplay needs more time to cook, though.

Beat Gotham Knights with a friend and it was super mediocre, story stuff was handled well but the moment to moment gameplay felt bad. I'm not too hopeful on this one.

Did Gotham Knights do well?

Not sure, but I did check at two stores owned by the same retail chain and both the standard and steelbook editions were already discounted to €40. But what surprised me the most is that they had sizable inventory for this game (40+ copies in stock per store) and considering the mid worth of mouth it will take a quite a bit of time to clear the stock. In any case, I hope to buy the steelbook edition for €20 in a couple of months or so since it looks sweet.

I hope the feeling of speed while flying around as Superman is better than that of being on a bike in Gotham Knights lol…

Could they please update Gotham Knights to 60 FPS before moving on...? :(

Going on Alex's Gotham Knights PC video on Digital Foundry I think that's extremely unlikely given it can't hold 60fps even on high end PC's due to the engine being super CPU bound which is why lowering resolution to say 1080p for a performance mode on console wasn't in the game in the first place.

It would take a massive reworking of the code to get to a stable 60fps and with them now moving on to another project aswell as it being on UE5 instead of this engine I'm not expecting a 60fps patch for the game ever. Maybe this is the reason we never got a 60fps console patch for Arkham Knight either…

So they were making both Damian Wayne and Superman games?
Rocksteady pitched for Superman as a follow-up to Arkham Knight but was told no.
WB Games pitched for Suicide Squad as a follow-up to Arkham Origins but was told no.
Wb Games then pitched for Arkham 5 starring Damian Wayne but was told no.

So naturally, Rocksteady was then put on Suicide Squad as a follow-up to Arkham Knight. Meanwhile, WB Games was put on Arkham 5 with the serial numbers filed off - AKA Gotham Knights, and are apparently following that up with Superman.

Because WB's gaming division is run about as smoothly as their film division.

SpartaNNNN In the future let's not post the majority of the article and actually give credit to said source (By actually linking via their name and not just "source"). Thank you.

The PS2 superman game is still my favorite, and if it was properly fleshed out with modern tech it could be great.

They should bring back Metropolis having its own health bar.

Why the fuck would you give Superman, who hasn't had a good game ever, to these morons? Who are 1 for 2 in terms of making something decent? Give it to Rocksteady or outsource it. If not don't fucking do it.

There's nothing that points to it being Superman, and the addition of multiplayer probably eliminates Superman completely

If history is any indication, this will be cancelled, then rebooted, then cancelled again, then turned into, like, a Damien Wayne game, then cancelled again, then they'll chuck out some looter-brawler.

Because co-op games are much more fun than single-player games.
Whew, scorching hot takes today.

i started playing gotham knights with a friend yesterday, and while the game sucks, we still kind of like it lol. it's kind of cute to see the game struggle to output 30 fps in the bland open world, or have vehicles pop in right in front of you as you are going full speed at 35 mph on the motorbikes at a 20 fps frame rate. it gave us a kind of fondness for the game, like watching a scrappy old dog struggle really hard to keep up with their owner. so i'm kind of rooting for the developer

Hopefully, they have more technical know-how because Gotham Knight was rough. I platinumed it last weekend and the technical aspect of the game was horrible. It has other problems too but the performance was by far the worst.

Coop saved it if I wasn't playing with a friend I would have dropped the game.

It's amazing how many times we've heard a Superman game has been in development in the past 10 years or so. Felt like that with Suicide Squad as well but I think that was only canceled once.

Would be hilarious if they just took the exact formula and the basic story, just with Death of Superman instead of Batman.

Superman dies at the very beginning and you play as either Superboy, Cyborg Superman, Supergirl, or Steel.

Wb Games then pitched for Arkham 5 starring Damian Wayne but was told no.

I don't think this is totally accurate.

Assuming the press sneak fuck was right, Jason Schreier believed it was going to be at the game awards back in 2016. The other games he said would be there were (mass effect, Zelda, guardians of the Galaxy from telltale). He also said it would have Damian as the Bat, which was seemingly correct given the leaked artwork years later.

So, I think it made it into some form of development, enough to very nearly have a teaser trailer before it was pulled last minute from the game awards, and at some point changed into Gotham Knights. If right, that means somewhere buried in a vault is one of their fancy CGI trailers for an unmade Damian-Man game.
