What he is saying is not wrong. A lot of bad companies have been surviving by just getting into cheap debt and, long term, the economy would be better served if they didn't exist and were replaced by companies that actually made money.

I mean in a capitalist market recessions are a feature, but the only reason he's happy is because he knows his company won't be as affected.

This world is imperfect. If only I could wipe away the impurities... and make it as beautiful as me!

This creep has a young baby, "runs" multiple companies, and has more progress in Elden Ring than I do.

"Working hard". Yeah, sure Elon.

It will be good for people like him, just like the last time. His segment of society keeps getting richer no matter what happens in the world. It won't be good for everyone else.

Let's not attribute to stupidity what we have plenty of reason to assume is by malice. This is the guy who regularly posts far right memes on Twitter, then tried to buy the company so that he could reinstate the account of a president that inspired far right politicians worldwide.
There's certainly an element of malice and a damn strong one at that too. I just can't help but see him as an dumb as well. Not the 'oh he's just dumb he doesn't understand what hes saying' kind. More, he's an evil POS who happens to be thick as two planks yet propped up as a genius. I cant unsee the parallels between him and Trump in that sense as the right wing prop them up the same way.

'It has been raining money on fools for too long. Some bankruptcies need to happen.
Cool, let's end all government subsidies, contracts, and government resource sharing for SpaceX and Tesla and see how far your company can sustain itself?

Musk is literally the poster child for getting rich off siphoning off the government.

They serve a purpose.

Too many people still worship this guy (even here) , and he needs to be diminished at every turn.
True

It wasn't a year ago that in some SpaceX launch threads I was piled on by Musk Stan's when I casually pointed out how Musk's entire SpaceX fortune is due to taking advantage of poorly designed government loan programs that amounted to Lemon socialism and siphoning off money, knowledge, and resources that America could have just as easily kept in-house and continued doing through NASA and other agencies had our culture not been captured by Reagan-brain the last 40 years.

Recessions are only great for rich assholes who can afford to pick up the broken pieces at a discount to make them even richer when shit bounces back.

Vulture capitalists love bankruptcies so they can make acquisitions on the cheap.
Not sure why anyone cares what that asshat thinks though

This sex pest locked away from people would be good. Too bad laws don't apply to billionaires.

He words it like a dumbass but from a strictly monetary standpoint he is not wrong.

That's the reason central banks are racing to end their QEs and raise rates.

Historically inducing a recession is the quickest way to end inflation.

Every one of his stans are just such fucking dipshits. Every time he opens his mouth, it's utterly deranged that anyone but the dumbest or worst people would idolize him.

Im not really sure I see the point in making a thread about every stupid thing this moron says, particularly an opinion as asinine as this. Recessions are tough on people regardless of what Musk proclaims.
A recession would have very little effect on him personally. In fact people like him tend to make even more money when the economy downturns. All Musk cares about is himself, he's not capable of caring about the suffering of faceless people he's never met.

I hate him so much. This fuck exists on billions in bailouts, tax breaks, subsidies and loans from the gov't and he has the nerve to give a "pull up your boot straps and work harder," take? He is dangerously self deluded and I hope everyday that his hubris causes him to financially self destruct.

He is objectively right though. The coming recession, just like any recession in history, is not only good but necessary and of vital importance for the capitalist class. Y'all calling him dumb, are in fact the dumb ones, that don't grasp how the reproduction and concentration of the capital works.

I think a politician could go far arguing to raise taxes on the rich specifically to spite this piece of shit.

if only there was a recession thst redistributed all the wealth at the top to the bottom, that would be good and healthy.
