Well, I expected it to review well, but not THAT well. I know it's going to drop eventually, but seeing that 97 was quite a shock. So excited for launch.
Freaking crazyHoly shit the Opencritic score is still 97 and we're at 89 reviews.
It's the same gamethe 97 is for ps5, the pc and series x scores are 95 and 94 on different review counts
i mean, Martin didnt write the story no? he helped with the lore.
the story is still from's
Metacritic is weird through because it assigns different weights to different outlets
I guess at this point we should just be thankful it's on so many platforms and no exclusive deals taking place.Xbox brothers/sisters, buy this game please!!! Don't want to see a huge platform split gap between PS and Xbox. Show your love for Soul games on Xbox.
(This post has no console war intention. Only hope this game can have some decent success on my preferred platform. It is very certain ER will have a massive success on PS.)
I stopped playing Horizon to play BOTW like any normal person would. Didn't get back to Horizon for months, and when I finally finished it, I liked it more than BOTW. I don't think that will happen this time but FW is pretty awesome in its own right.
Same. Expected high 80s, a solid game. But review texts make it sound like this is exactly what I hoped for and not what I expected.I never thought that I would see another game get a metacritic score over 95 again. I am in awe.
Wow...that escalated quickly...
It's more about some of the shit the reviews actually say. It sounds like it's absolutely full of meaningful surprises, treasures and wonder.
It does confirm one thing, if both of these games (plus Starfield and others) come out this year, then 2022 will be the greatest year in gaming history. And it won't even be remotely fucking close.
The Horizon series release a week before BOTW and a week before Elden Ring.......is something.
Absolutely. If devs just gave people a little more credit they would understand how much more fulfilling these aspects of their games could be. This is the type of thing that's get you lost in a world and buries it in your memories forever.Let's hope its success inspires many other open world games in the future. No more level scaling, randomized loot or quest markers please.
It's going to be an insane year for sure if all these games launchIt does confirm one thing, if both of these games (plus Starfield and others) come out this year, then 2022 will be the greatest year in gaming history. And it won't even be remotely fucking close.
I have pre-ordered and canceled the Steelbook edition twice already because I was sure I wouldn't have time to play around launch anyways... which I really don't. But now I'm back to considering another Steelbook pre-order vs just getting it digitally.I have it pre-orderd at Best Buy for the steelbook but I'm considering double dipping and getting the digital as well. Help.
I saw that you were playing on Series X - so no real complaints? I am debating on the platform but prefer Xbox's controller for games like this.
Well Playstation has 2 games from some of it's biggest franchises coming out within a week of Elden Ring, so I imagine that will help the Xbox Split.Xbox brothers/sisters, buy this game please!!! Don't want to see a huge platform split gap between PS and Xbox. Show your love for Soul games on Xbox.

Yeah, same thing happened with the Last of Us vs GTA V in 2013. A higher MC doesn't ensure that the game wins the GOTY.Worth mentioning it has about the same score as RDR2 and yet a lower scoring game in 2018 beat it out for GOTY.
the game is actually bad and there's a worldwide agreement among reviewers to troll us
Fuck it, I just bought it.Not even into Souls types of games, but these reviews is hyping me up to buy it now.
Please help me. lol
This is me. My friends are absolutely shitting on me via text for finally being like "ok, I'm interested" after a lifetime of being negative on Souls games.I honestly have no real attachment to Souls type games…but the reviews and mentioning it's a little more approachable has me really contemplating grabbing it.
Yeah the steelbook is showing up in my order. That's being shipped by release day and I used in-store pickup for the game.My order is currently set to be shipped by Friday so it should at least be delivered on launch day.
Is the steelbook showing up as part of your order? It isn't for me.
Not sure about the gameplay for me : BB is their most "Capcom" game regarding melee and for that I hope they will get back to that formula one day... But how that unanimity around ER is impressive, it jumped over all last and present decade games lol
