Bitcoin has become the standard of crypto. If you ask a random person they likely would have heard of Bitcoin but maybe not like Ethereum, Polkadot, Radix, Ripple, etc.

Dogecoin, Meme Currency from 2013, hits all-time USD high

Everyone has to decide how much risk they are willing to take. Cash out now in case it drops, or regret it when you wake up with it 1000% higher, who knows.
I just did a search for it in their search bar and then bought it. That was 90 minutes ago though. I'm still not sure if I have it. It doesn't show on main portfolio page, but if I go to the Dogecoin page, it says I have a Limit Buy for it that is "Confirmed".
Coinbase b like: Oh so youbought some BTC eh, how nice! we'll get that to you in about 9 days. maybe.
Yeah but why does that matter? In the virtual space, changes can happen fast. Download an app, deleted another. Sell this coin, buy another. Yesterday was Bitcoin, tomorrow could be Doge. What is the underlying difference?
I could see Doge reach 1k over a few months, why not?
Bitcoin has limited coins available.
DOGE is unlimited.
Think of BTC as gold. It is finite in supply.
As per usual. I thought I sold my principal but who knows. Zero confirmation of anything.
Why does it really matter though? As long as people are willing to buy Doge under the belief others will pay more for it, the price could go up no?
Market cap. It's not realistic. 1k doge would mean it was a quadrillion dollar venture
To further illustrate: Doge at $1k would make the dollar fucking worthless.
I want the thing to succeed but lets keep our fucking expectations in check here people.
Well ok I pulled the number out of thin air. Let's say, same market cap as the current Bitcoin market cap. Or even half.
If you have Coinbase you can exchange something like LTC for DOGE on an exchange like CoinSwitch, the amount can vary though depending on when the transaction is completed.
$1 is possible, but we're a long way from there.
Still we live in interesting times...
If you're on RH, system is just getting mauled right now and is having issues. I and another had same issues, but orders all went through eventually.
Glad on my investment back in 2014. Spent around $10-$15 I think for a bunch, and still had 40,000 left when all was said and done. Then figured I'd put some money into it here and there beginning in January on RH as I saw the price, coin is relatively stable and be cool if I could maybe double my money one day with that.
Needless to say, I'll keep holding.
