I'm in a situation where I'm going to have to tip a valet in a few hours and I only have $20 bills. I never use cash and didn't think ahead so I don't have any smaller bills. I was in a situation where I had to use a valet and didn't have another option when parking. Obviously I'm not super happy about having strangers in my car during COVID and I already paid a big fee to park the car overnight.
From what I can see, my options are:
1) Give the valet a $20 and just forget about it.
2) Give the valet the $20 and ask for some change back. If he can't do that for whatever reasons, I have no back up plan.
3) Walk to a corner store and break the $20 by buying a drink or something, then walk back and retrieve my car.
4) Don't tip the valet, or write down a bible verse on a piece of paper and give him that and say "This is eternal treasure worth more than anything money can buy."
What would you do? I lived most of my adult life in a non-tipping country and am not comfortable with tipping and never know what to do.
