Disney+ aiming to have 4:3 versions of The Simpsons episodes by May 28th

Had to search for it but it works over this little hidden button that someone showed a few postings above, that you would never find when you click on an episode directly. Weird that they haven't removed 16:9 completely and that it still is the default option.


Regardless of everything, doesn't change the fact that all old episodes still look as awful as some of the old Disney classic Blu Rays with horrible digital noise reductions which makes them look like made with watercolor.

They don't only need 4:3, they need a brand new scan.

Happy it's finally in 4:3, but yeah, the quality still isn't what it should be. Especially for one of the most important shows in TV history.

I really don't think people care about noise as much as content holders seem to think they do. So long as the image is sharp, no one is going to complain "why are there specks" in the same way they complained "why are there black bars."
Just reduce the noise to a modest amount, don't nuke it from orbit.

Change the setting on your phone app and it'll automatically change in your tv too when you restart Disney +
