True. Genuinely met people who can't tell the difference between 30 and 60.
Has anyone played a racing games at 120/144fps? Curious how much difference it makes.
BallisticNG at 100FPS feels way better to play than at 60. Haven't tried other modern games tho since it's my old laptop that has the 100hz screen.Has anyone played a racing games at 120/144fps? Curious how much difference it makes.
You know that 1440p is around two times the amount of pixels than 1080p? That may help your ass make better conjectures :pprecisely, where the series x 120 fps option might come in at 1440p the ps5 could come in at 1080p or something. Not a huge deal of course, and this is all conjecture from my ass
Perfec then for our comparisons as we will see exactly the CPU and GPU differences with a higher fps ceiling.https://www.psu.com/news/dirt-5-ps5-120-fps-dualsense/
Expected, but good to have proper confirmation.
I'm sure it'll be just like X1X vs PS4 Pro. 120fps on PS5 but at a slightly lower resolution.
You'll still feel benefits without a 120hz display. Lower latency is a big one.Don't have a telly that can make use of the 120fps, but I like that they seem to be taking advantage of some of the features of the controller.
When it comes to PS5, things need to be explicitly said, at least twice.

I think we all know the answer is no.
We don't know what XSX resolution is yet. Don't post fake news.
True. Genuinely met people who can't tell the difference between 30 and 60.
I think 2.1 is only needed for 4k/120fps. Lower resolutions are fine with 2.0.Will hdmi 2.1 be needed to support this? I got a 1440p 144hz display a few months ago and I don't really want to get a new one. Lol
1440p is 3.6 million pixels and 1080p is 2 million pixels. That means xsx needs to be 60% more capable than ps5 gpu wise .precisely, where the series x 120 fps option might come in at 1440p the ps5 could come in at 1080p or something. the xbox series x has a better gpu and cpu, a slightly higher resolution is almost a given, stop being so defensive.
I doubt it would double the resolution, but 18% means something's gotta give, right? In perfect, theoretical conditions, 18% would mean PS5 would be at about 100fps if the Series X is reaching 120. That's a significant difference. Not to mention that the 12TF on Series X is a sustained number, whereas the 10.28TF on PS5 is a "boost" number.I wonder if there often will be a resolution difference at all. Isn't the Xbox Series X GPU just 18% more powerful than that of the PS5? That does not sound that much and it's much less than for example the power difference of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X which often made significant differences in resolution possible.
Someone made the example of 1080p on PS5 and 1440p on Xbox Series X. Can 18% more power double the resolution?
I still can't, and I couldn't care less about 30 vs 60 vs 120FPS.
lmao WHAT? What fake news? I'm speculating, just like practically everyone else in this thread. Put away your console defense force. We don't know what XSX resolution is yet. Don't post fake news.
1440p was native frame resolution but it was temporal injected to 4k with 8k textures .
That there were people in doubt or that the PS5 will be able to deliver 120 FPS? Because if it's the former, just look at twitter lol, and if it's the later, someone has already posted on the first page, but here it is:
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/ps5/Up to 120fps with 120Hz output
Enjoy smooth and fluid high frame rate gameplay at up to 120fps for compatible games, with support for 120Hz output on 4K displays.

hahaha! Are you me? I just bought a 65C9 to take advantage of that sweet sweet 120fps, but I know I'll end up opting for increased visuals at 30fps with nearly every single player game.I bought an LG C9 to be future proof but I'm looking forward to being able to play at 120fps and still sticking to 30fps because pretty graphics
(Am totally fine with good 30fps like horizon, drive club, PGR 3 I think was 30?)
Sounds like I'm getting tired of random people jumping to the defense of a piece of plastic hardware like they identify personally with it.

Maybe this just means both systems will be at, say 1440p dynamic, and the PS5 will just drop down a bit more often than Series X. It'll be interesting to see how things play out, for sure.

Oh my sweet summer child....
Wasn't it 1440p reconstructed to 4K?
No. The GPU and CPU will be the differentiators in such a case.
I can't see there being FPS / resolution gains from the SSD, no.
I was thinking the same. I hope the game will support PSVR.
The PS4 CPU cores clocked 150 MHz less than the Xbone ones. In relative terms, the discrepancy has now been halved.
cant wait. love yalls work!Perfec then for our comparisons as we will see exactly the CPU and GPU differences with a higher fps ceiling.
No. HDMI 2.0 can do 1080p/120hz and maybe a little higher, resolution wise
Thanks. Hopefully it can do 120fps at 1440 or anything above 60 lol.I think 2.1 is only needed for 4k/120fps. Lower resolutions are fine with 2.0.
Fair enough, just wondered if the faster storage would have a knock on effectNo. The GPU and CPU will be the differentiators in such a case.
