At this point I hope From add an easy mode in their next game just to see the shitstorm that would ensue.

What decisions are and are not allowed to be criticized in a game
Is there a list
I don't understand the logic behind "no there should never be an easy mode"
An optional difficulty has absolutely ZERO impact on you or the game. All it does is make it more accessible to more groups of people which is the entire purpose of video games
Or the culture of From Software? lol
FromSoft games aren't hard just 'cause. They're hard to evoke a specific feeling. Lessening the difficulty compromises the intended experience. If From doesn't want to compromise the experiences they make, people should respect that I think.I don't understand the logic behind "no there should never be an easy mode"

I am very excited to reply "Then play something else" the next time someone bitches about weapon durability or pacing
Hey, if you don't like what people are saying here...I am very excited to reply "Then play something else" the next time someone bitches about weapon durability or pacing
Okay so my list of design decisions that must be respected and not criticized:FromSoft games aren't hard just 'cause. They're hard to evoke a specific feeling. So is From an elitist developer for not adding easy modes to their games?
Fair.Silly comparison. A more accurate comparison, but still an inaccurate one, would be people asking for a horror movie to have a cut that makes it less scary while also having the original cut. I say it's inaccurate because it is not as simple to make a less frightening cut of the film, at least not as simple as it would be for this situation.
We used to be alright with not being able to pause even while playing offline too as it adds to the feeling of dread but we're also fine when you can pauseOkay so my list of design decisions that must be respected and not criticized:
- Difficulty [if hard]
- ???

Yes, a better though still bad comparison would be like choosing to watch the airplane version of an R-rated movie.Silly comparison. Ok and a lot of games are made intended to be played on "normal" difficulty levels to get the "true experience" and yet developers still create multiple layers of difficult (harder or easier) to satisfy more groups of playersFromSoft games aren't hard just 'cause. I really hate this elitist attitude. It's incredibly selfish. An optional easy mode would in no way affect your enjoyment of the game on higher settings.I agree, don't like it don't play it. Sick of people whining.
