The Cure have albums full of depressed, bleak fucking songs. "The Same Deep Water as You" just really hits me.




Much like The Cure, Katatonia have a full body of work dedicated to being bleak, miserable and depressed. Jonas' vocals on "Saw You Drown" work for me. He's nowhere nearly as good of a singer here as he'd become later, but he just captures misery so perfectly.

Rozz Williams and Gitane Demone covered Hendrix's "Manic Depression" and the song always destroys me when I listen to it. It's one of the most depressing songs I've heard for sure. Knowing Williams hanged himself later makes it worse too.
