Claire McCaskill on MSNBC: "I will not be surprised if Joe Biden wins every single state tonight."
I'm trying to illustrate that there is no norm in primaries because the sample size is stupid small.
I think the path for progressives will be not relying on a small insular audience to win the vote. It will be working on outreach to communities, and molding progressive policies to fit those communities instead of trying to impress people with a one-size fits all approach.honestly i think the path for progressives wont be through the democratic party. anyone who picks up bernie's or anyone to the left of bernie's message will get hit with the same criticisms.
party is permanently in hold the line mode.
I would be very happy with Bernie if he dropped out tonight. The more time the party has to unite before the general, the better.i know sanders haters have trouble picturing this but i actually think its possible sanders just bows out after tonight. in 2016 he at least could delude everyone with the fantasy that the looming clinton indictment and the late california primary could be the saving grace but this would just be brutal. sanders getting shlonged by joe would hurt his movement and i think he understands that. them cancelling future events today over the coronavirus also seemed like a sign
Probably because a lot of people are literally going to die unless the medical insurance nightmare in the US is fixed and Biden is going to do jack and shit to even try to solve it.
But hey, at least for those of you privileged enough to not worry about it can continue being smug assholes about slow progress.
Goes to show you how far name recognition can take you.
Dude had like no ground game, and yet somehow here we are
Biden really needs to run on Medicare for all. People love the idea and he is a popular candidate. He could really sell that policy.
Bullshit. The question was explicitly about M4A, even a stripped down compromised version of it thanks to Nancy Pelosi. He chose to dodge the question and instead hint that he'd veto it instead. He didn't say that. At best, you're misrepresenting what he said
Or you know the whole coronavirus thingThe fact that the conversation is shifting to canceling all debates so that we can hide Biden's dementia for as long as possible is not exciting.
Pointless to try and shift Biden left. Biden said he'd veto M4A even in the impossible hypothetical that it was passed through the Senate and House. Progressive policy ain't happening in a Biden admin.Biden wins by a lot. Thanks millennials. As someone in a later state (Pennsylvania) I'm not even going to get to vote in the primary because y'all didn't vote for Bernie. Stop with the complaining and conspiracy talk and push for change within Bidens group.
It's certainly an uncomfortable argument, and I'm not saying I necessarily subscribe to it, but it's not without logic. You mean because of coronavirus? That would seem kind of dirty to me.
He answered a badly phrased question with a badly phrased non-answer.You mean like how Biden said he'd veto M4A if it came to his desk? Is that how it's supposed to work? Despite how popular it is?
right wing peddling
Obviously Bernie should drop out of the race after tonight.. he won't because he doesn't care about the party, but that is the right thing to do.

So you're saying I'm supposed to be happy with friends and family suffering and dying just because other people might die less? Do you really think that's a good way of campaigning for Biden?Infinitely more people will die and have their liberties stripped if a Democrat doesn't win this November.
Clyburn said the DNC should step in and stop debates today to protect Joe in the general.
Obviously Bernie should drop out of the race after tonight.. he won't because he doesn't care about the party, but that is the right thing to do.
This also just reiterates that Biden would have crushed Trump in 2016. Hillary lost due to institutional misogyny and an unfair reputation that could not be shaken.
Hahaha! Do you think Trump is more mentally sound? 😂The fact that the conversation is shifting to canceling all debates so that we can hide Biden's dementia for as long as possible is not exciting.
So, where's your base if it's not in the democratic party? Where do you get more votes than the greens?
Not really, Bernie is just not a charismatic or uniting leader, his policies are popular. I don't know why you guys have a hard time admitting this to yourselves.
I think it will at some point. New blood will get in there eventually and candidates with a better chance than Bernie will start to show up.
To any younger leftists in here feeling the hit: don't despair. This is what we do. The left loses. For each victory, we take 2, 5, 10 losses. We lose, and we lose, and we lose... and then we win, and when we do win, we change the whole game up.
Look at how much the conversation has shifted from 2016 because of the Bernie campaign, and he lost 2016. The same will happen now. And when you do get in there, and you will, everything will change.
Continue the fight. Unionize. Join your local DSA chapter. Talk to your fucking neighbor and find some class solidarity, for his problems are precisely the same problems that afflict you.
The fight doesn't end, and we will not live long enough to see the full results of our struggle come to fruition. We just have to do our best and add to the pile. It's literally all we can do.
Literally the opposite lesson you should take from this!
Not voting for the Dem nominee at least implies you're indifferent to it. Do your part.So you're saying I'm supposed to be happy with friends and family suffering and dying just because other people might die less? Do you really think that's a good way of campaigning for Biden?
'It's okay bro, your family will die but those more fortunate and wealthier than you will live'.
Biden's popular vote lead will top 1 million tonight. He's currently +991,000 on Sanders.
Jesus would literally have to come down from the heavens.if it is a clean sweep tonight there will be almost no way for bernie to make a comeback
legit miracles would have to come into play
Obviously Bernie should drop out of the race after tonight.. he won't because he doesn't care about the party, but that is the right thing to do.

It wasn;t going to change under Bernie either.Biden wins with absolutely zero effort and the establishment dead set on him months before anyone could put in a reasonable fight.
Depressing as fuck. We will get 8 years of middle of the road policy with the majority stonewalled by GOP anyway.
I anticipate no major changes to student debt, medical care, or climate change in the next ten years. Fucking sad.
"Progressive" is a meaningless buzzword, if that wasn't clear before.
Either you oppose capitalism or you don't. No more compromise.
If the best we can get from people voting is Joe Biden, what the fuck is the point? So if your candidate isn't viable, there is no point in the country voting? Fascinating...
