Mayor Pete is the most unlikeable of the bunch for me.
Haven't really followed the race though as I am not American.

We need more of this. A campaign without sharp contrast is a campaign without excitement or character. We don't need more of that "we disagree but we're united" shit. You can hug it out after going off.

That ad just made Biden seem petty and elitist.

Yeah, you can probably gloat more about what you've "accomplished" when being a VP, versus being a mayor.

Fuck both of them though. Bernie here we go.

I subscribe to /r/neoliberal because the liberal inside me needs that voice. But even as someone who has a soft spot for the Noah Smiths of the world, reading that sub and finding it so consistently idiotic, unfunny, and just straight up sad almost definitely pushed me leftward in a weird way.

I'm personally very fond of this one

Great ad.

Killer Mike's speech explains really well why my support for Bernie increased after the heart attack. I'd strongly leaned Warren for awhile. Bernie's socialism speech was a moment that started to change, and that change solidified during the stretch encompassing the heart attack, the AoC endorsement, and the comeback rally.

It just made the need to grasp the moment all the more undeniable.

That Killer Mike NRA stuff saddened me so much :/.

Comes across as elitist assholery. Bet "common people" can identify more with lights on bridges and new sidewalks than something something Iran.

Not sure Obama gives such a positive halo effect anymore.

Best part of Mayor Pete is that his father was a Marxist!

Best part of Mayo Pete is that, in a gushing essay about how great Sanders is, 18-year-old Pete burned current Mayo Pete so hard that his skeleton should have disintegrated.

"A new attitude has swept American politics. Candidates have discovered that is easier to be elected by not offending anyone rather than by impressing the voters. Politicians are rushing for the center, careful not to stick their necks out on issues."

"Cynical candidates have developed an ability to outgrow their convictions in order to win power."

2000 Winning Essay by Peter Buttigieg

Profile in Courage Essay Contest Press Release

Some other highlights:

"[Sanders] and few others like him have the power to restore principle and leadership in Congress and to win back the faith of a voting public weary and wary of political opportunism."

"One outstanding and inspiring example of such integrity is the country's only Independent Congressman, Vermont's Bernie Sanders.

Sanders' courage is evident in the first word he uses to describe himself: "Socialist". In a country where Communism is still the dirtiest of ideological dirty words, in a climate where even liberalism is considered radical, and Socialism is immediately and perhaps willfully confused with Communism, a politician dares to call himself a socialist? He does indeed. Here is someone who has "looked into his own soul" and expressed an ideology, the endorsement of which, in today's political atmosphere, is analogous to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Even though he has lived through a time in which an admitted socialist could not act in a film, let alone hold a Congressional seat, Sanders is not afraid to be candid about his political persuasion."

People are calling this ad brutal, but it seems super elitist to me. The only real points of attack are Buttigieg's firing of the African American chiefs in public service, which, fair, but I feel like it needs more context.
