I played for a while "solo" with randoms. You can play it truly solo with a robot AI helper but it really isn't the way the game is meant to be played. Luckily, matchmaking is incredibly easy to use and the community is great.
If any game could show 'I hate MP/Co-op' people how well a co-op game can work without making any comm demands or weird requests of the solo-inclined player, this is it.
PLAY IT. It's been great for two years and would be even greater with full crossplay to bring in this massive new audience.

Sure but it's been on PC for like almost 4 years, Xbox for like 1.5 years. Still impressive regardless of subscription userbase size imo

It extremely great news to hear, and man, almost doubling their concurrent players is incredible. I really hope tons more people get and try the game because its so much fun.
For those of you who are wondering, you can totally do it solo or with the AI controlled Bosco robot (who's useful to an extent) but you can also do it in duos too which is where a majority of my time comes with from playing with a buddy. And you can also try out randoms which surprisingly isn't too bad

That's great to hear...the game really deserves it. Bought it on Steam over the holidays and have been hooked. Playing mainly solo with the Scout (aside from Driller for On-site refining missions) since that seems to be the most versatile class with the best mobility. Will probably try online once I promote a class.
My only gripe is the dialogue is pretty bad when compared to games like Vermintide 2 and L4D2. The Dwarves in DRG repeat the same dumb lines over and over sometimes.

Yeah agree its definately impressive especially considering its only one week.

Glad to see this as I'm having an absolute blast with this game with my group and the monetization model in-game is extremely fair to the player. Add to that the file size being small enough that I can keep it on my system without thinking twice and can always pop back in for a mission or 2.
