I wish there would be an NPD simulator game to play since I wait for NPD numbers.Fair.
Erm.
Just don't worry about it. Everything will happen tomorrow and then it'll be over and it'll all be okay. Just... just go play a video game or something.
Wait, wait just hold on a second. We play videogames? What the hell?Everything will happen tomorrow and then it'll be over and it'll all be okay. Just... just go play a video game or something.
The public release is still on track for tomorrow after market closes.
Just be normal.
They promised a steady stream of quality releases during the whole of 2019, it will bite them if they can't deliver on that promise.
Q1 2018 was pretty dry as well, until Mario Tennis they had nothing remarkable. Doesn't sound crazy to me that it happens againMaybe not in January, but not until May? That's overly pessimistic.
Fair.

So I want to show you the respect you deserve and use this opportunity to ask you: how many units did the Nintendo Switch sell in December of 2018?

Lol come on. Even if there isn't a direct this month, Twitter has nothing to do with it. Also a couple tweets ain't nothing compared to an actual directare people still expecting a Nintendo Direct this month? the twitter info dump felt like that tbh.
Fire Emblem is getting its own event in May, right? I don't see why they should have a Direct before
Fuck, I predicted 1 unit sold for December.
Slightly but not really related : what's the biggest December(/month) NPD ever tracked, all hardware combined ?"Analysts believe the switch could have sold as many as 99,999,999 units during the December time frame."
Most likely 2009Slightly but not really related : what's the biggest December(/month) NPD ever tracked, all hardware combined ?
We likely get leaked numbers, though, so it's not like we're just waiting for NSW > PS4, XB1Guys, you are way too excited for just some December numbers (actually, not really numbers if you are not a NPD subscriber) for just US sales. And they won't even be that surprising. Spoiler alert: Smash is the best seller game for the month, Switch wins the month easily, either Switch or PS4 wins the year but it doesn't really matter because they will be close and XB1 is third but shows growth YoY. Everybody wins.
The interesting info will be on Nintendo's Q3 report at the end of the month.
A miserable pile of secrets
To be fair, I think this is the second time I've posted that in this thread.
Uh why did I get an alert from this post?
The public release is still on track for tomorrow after market closes.

Don't yall want to go outside and build a snowman or something?

Why hasn't anyone threaded "Nintendo Switch confirmed to have sold at least one copy in December - is Nintendo doomed?" yetOh, is it doom-thirty again? Don't y'all EVER get tired of it?
1<X<100,000,000
Mat doesnt seem excited about the release
Underwhelming December confirmed
I believe you can't, thats why we never got numbers for Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii since it was a Gamestop exclusiveI have a weird question for MatPiscatella. Is the NPD data available for individual retailers to view as well? This is to say, if I was for example Walmart, would I be able to see the sales at other retailers and the split of different games and genres across retail chains?
I know its a weird question but I have always been curious if retailers themselves get that level of detail.
Maybe you are suscribed to the thread, o the used quoted you by mistake and the edited?
This is a really underrated post. It does in fact describe how most people behave. The only Simpsons meme consistently applicable to Video Game sales is Disco Stu.

nintendo is tracking sales directly by their own stealth RFID system they secretly installed at retail selling points nationwide. every day, the well-hidden RFID-scanner-reader is sending an update of the delta amount of products on the shelves. the biggest problem was to create something big enough to hide a complete transmitter stations with batteries inside, that will be present right before the eyes of customers and employees but at the same time quasi invisible, untouched and generally ignored. they called it labo.
I have never seen snow. what is the lesson? At least my kid finally learned the valuable lesson of keeping his hands in his winter stroller sack.
This image gives me life LMAO
I don't know who gave you this information, but we have an inside source from the NPD who said the Switch definitely didn't sell more than 99,999,999 this month.I haven't been following along in this thread very closely, can someone confirm for me whether or not we're expecting the Switch to sell 99,999,999,999,999,999,999 units this month?
Thanks

Switch should sell about 260,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 plank units. Roughly.

Oh okay. That's interesting. On the same topic then, would retailers have to use their own sources to determine metrics on what makes sense to stock and in what volumes? Or does NPD have any kind report for retailers to make decisions on gaming related info?
