Was causally browsing Reddit, and stumbled upon this post.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EarthPorn/comments/alfrz9/summer_stream_súðavík_iceland_oc_3456x4608/?st=JRK86DV9&sh=9f81dca9

Summer Stream, Súðavík, Iceland

Photo was taken and belongs to Reddit user u/Zilech.

Reminds me of the river shot from both PT (in one of the photo frames) and Death Stranding (in the fourth trailer, when Sam is walking around.)

It looks very similar, if you ask me. Differences between the game and real life obviously, haha.

Shit, don't do that! I thought that was an in-game screenshot for a moment. Hell, even now that pic has a "game" like quality to it that my mind doesn't want to shake.

If they are aiming for photorealism with this game I wouldn't be surprised if the PS5 variant of this game looks as good as this pic.

EDIT.
For comparison

Aki Saito reached 20k followers a long time ago and he didn't post anything related to the game.
Why was I expecting this? -_-

Man, Aki Saito speaks perfect english. Is he American?

He's Japanese. He was Kojima's previous translator around the time Metal Gear Solid 4 was still in development, but then he left the company after. I was told by someone in the industry, a fellow journo friend, he went into the banking sector.

He's back now as head of marketing/communications rather than a mere translator for Kojima, though he seems to be taking that up again too.

Why is Kojima hash tagging himself on his Instagram, just random.

Aki Saito's Need To Know Season 3 also starts this week!

https://metro.co.uk/2019/02/06/norm...plicated-death-stranding-8453935/?ito=cbshare

That guy is such a genius, Hideo Kojima,' Norman said. 'I'm like, 'Oh so they'll be playing me?' And he's like, 'No they are you. We will make them cry as you.' I'm like, 'What are you talking about? It's a video game." Speaking about what to expect in Death Stranding, Norman added: 'The concept is so far out into the future. Instead of eliminating everyone around you, it's bringing everyone together. It's a very positive video game, but scary and depressing at the same time. 'It's kind of a new movie. I've never seen anything like what we're doing. Guillermo Del Toro introduced me to him, who is also working on the game; he's also a character in the game.
I saw that video game director at the Video Game Music Awards, walk down the steps and they lit up underneath his feet like Michael Jackson and he goes, 'I'm back.' And the place is like, 'Oh my god.' Like grown men in tears. 'I was like who is this god – whatever he wants to do I'll do it. He's a genius.' Asked if the trailers released so far (before E3 2018) were representative of the game, Norman replied: 'He keeps telling me people will watch all these trailers, they'll come up with these ideas and look for all these Easter eggs, and they have been doing that.'

The trailers show you an aspect of it, but not a whole picture of what the game will be. That's like a whole other thing. It's complicated, it's a crazy complicated game. I've been learning a lot about video games doing it.'

Okay but what is it? Can we see like some gameplay. Other than that small clip of him walking on a bridge not much is shown. Sigh Sony please get this released already. Kinda bored now with this from Kojima
I'm sorry, friend, but I simply don't understand this. You are not organizing your life around it, right? I don't understand getting bored with something you have yet to experience.

Director Jordan Vogt Roberts has seen Death Stranding in action!

The "no one has seen it, but I played it and it's so good it'll change your life" crap got so old with RDR2 (which I personally thought turned out to be a terrible and backwards game, the opposite of what influencers were hyping it up to be). Can we just not.

This is the worst kind of hyping and I've now been conditioned to have a negative response to it.

Yeah I completely agree

I will say that of what we have seen in the trailers I am cautiously optimistic

The sci fi concept seems pretty cool now that people are piecing together some of the rules of this world. I like the visuals, acting and open world

Whether the gameplay and story actually culminate in something satisfying is another story but I am ready for something new and unique which is what this original concept is giving me so far.

So Sam dies and in afterlife he is holding a baby which is his incarnation and he needs to make sure his incarnation is born and keep it away from death. If it is something along this line it has a chance to be a very powerful story.

Its definitely a weird and unique apocalyptic world... that people still find a way to live and exist in to the point there are companies that make deliveries in this nightmare world lol

I feel like humanity would just give up and die off were this to happen to us

My expectation is that the game will have relatively familiar gameplay with an unconventional progression structure. There will be some unfair backlash that the game does not change video games forever, even though Kojima never promised to do that.

Agreed. It's a conventional video game played on a console, with a controller and outputted to a screen where I control a character in 3rd person. It's never going to change my life or blow me away. It might very well be an excellent game, but I agree with you that this insane hyperbole when hyping games only gets a backlash from me.

Yeah it would be to the benefit of everyone involved in the development of this game, including Kojima himself, to try to keep hype to minimum and let the game speak for itself when more people actually get to play something resembling a final product

This is his first game post Konami so some humble and straight shooting approach to marketing might be in his best interest.... then again thats also not his style

Been trying not to post in Death Stranding threads lately because I've been so anxious to see gameplay, but man those tweets aren't helping. I can't wait to see it.

I wonder if the game will have chases? Kind of hard not to imagine it with there being transporting and reading that Fury Road comment.

If you're upset that other people are excited about this game then I'd say the problem lies with you rather than the game.

Kojima will shake the gaming world with this game. We are in for something truly "mindblowing", I rarely use that phrase, but Kojima will blow our minds!

Can't wait to see it.
