Good. I love how there are so many playstyle approaches to this game. I'm growing quite fond of electric whip, it makes it really easy to kill flying enemies and the little leeches that come from corpses.
QUESTION -
If I have upgraded my, say, wolf trap II, then later in my run upgrade to a wolf trap VI, do I lose all the incremental updates I bought? Also, I'm confused how the yellow colour factors in to upgrades. Sometimes it shows as a brutal/weapon and other times it says updating survival/green will upgrade it. A little confused.
It's a startlingly good game with a tremendous amount of depth and playstyles. I still haven't unlocked a ton of stuff.
To answer your questions, a wolf trap II is always a wolf trap II and can never be changed in that way. You can, however, upgrade once to a wolf trap II+. In doing so, it becomes more powerful, but will also reroll the perks in the process of the upgrade, so you're taking a chance upgrading a perfect perked item, although the power boost is usually worth it. You can do the same for a wolf trap II+, turning it into a wolf trap II++.
Some weapon types correspond to two different stat points. It will feed off whichever is the higher of the two for you. The two colors in the box with the item pic only demonstrate the balance of your stats. It doesn't matter which one you choose, but each weapon only keys off one stat. So let's say you have a broadsword, you can run a brutality or survival build because it's green and red. Whichever of the two is higher is the one your broadsword numbers will scale off of.
