What's the point? "I want to come off as a faux intellectual and make insidious arguments about why transphobia and bigotry are not actually bad guys, please don't ban me" ?

Nothing about this is what a forum is meant to be, as you either agree with the imposed perspective, or if you so much as try to debate it or come at it from a different angle, you get banned. Trying to form a debate around the issue is not downplaying it, and can in fact be a healthier way to approach the subject. Being banned for genuinely questioning a particular line of thought is baffling.
Please ban me as well as i don't want to have anything to do with this new-wave hive mind BS.
I get what you mean, but it was probably more about internalized self-loathing than the game calling him one.Token gay character in minor side-quest, plus "I'm a freak too"... Isn't really the best argument in their favor.
"I want to discriminate people freely"This is some scary shit.

Thank you kind sir.Central Europe or Mitteleuropa is probably one of the most consequential and longstanding geopolitical concepts/constructs in European history. And Poland is smack dab in the middle of it. To call Poland exclusively 'eastern' is a relatively new phenomenon, historically speaking -- a consequence of the differentiation between Eastern and Western powers during the Cold War.
Joke was in bad taste, but I don't think that their social media manager's poor choice of words should reflect poorly on the entirety of CDPR. They quickly deleted the tweet when they realized it was offensive. My guess is that they were ignorant of the inherent hurtfulness of that meme
The thread is literally, explicitly, about a transphobic tweet. What's your point? The thread was about the action from one dude on twitter. Not about the entire concept of transexuality, not everything is you know....
What is this witch hunts about comedy in the 21ist century? Are we serious? Are we going to have inquisitions because someone have made a joke about someones sexuality?
This is some scary shit.

Not really, just the fact some people where genuinely not familiarized with the offensive meme in question, and those were treated as downplaying it, when in fact they were just asking about it, not standing by it.You're upset that the mods don't want to deal with obvious transphobic bs disguised as "just asking questions"?
Please do go on.
Perhaps you should have read Era's TOS. It's got 'no transphobic stuff' baked into it.This is some scary shit.

People really, really need to stop using this phrase to defend the marginalization of minorities. It's extremely inappropriate considering the historical context.

I for one was not aware of it, and before understanding the meaning behind it, wasn't immediately aware of the significance of the tweet. I don't think that makes me transphobic, does it?
not everyone is into LGBT issues, most people don't give a shit. I assume that a community manager heard/saw the phrase out of context and just used it. Since they are out for a western market they need to hire some LGBT person who digs the issue at hand and let him/her/them(?) moderate all their communications in English.

"Did You Just Assume My Gender?" is a well known meme that has been used to trivialize and make fun of LGBT concerns since 2016. It specifically mocks transgender people for having preferred pronouns, even though no one ever actually uses the quote in real life. It's a derogatory stereotype and is inherently transphobic. Any internet search will bring up numerous examples.
Given that the intent of the meme is to mock the feelings of a marginalized group, it is particularly poor form to dismiss their feelings on this matter. If you do not think you can engage that perspective seriously and respectfully then you should not post. Thank you.
Oh poor fucking you.
Could you quickly elaborate your point? What do want to discuss here? If the tweet was transphobic? That's literally the only thing that isn't up for debate here.
This is some scary shit.

Along with a thread about Romani people. Moths into the flameat how many bans are we now?
I think we could just sticky this thread and put a Zwarte Piet thread next to it
Thats still pretty damn transphobic. Like if I made a joke about being mugged specifically by a black guy, it'd still be racist no matter how much I claim the punchline is about being mugged in general.
It. Doesn't. Matter.not everyone is into LGBT issues, most people don't give a shit. I assume that a community manager heard/saw the phrase out of context and just used it. ''CREATORS SHOULD FREE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR ART!!'' unless it's when the creator wants to add more representation to their product then it's just ''SJWS TRYING TO SHOVE THEIR STUFF IN EVERYTHING!!''. These people are so obvious.Because it's a harmful, lazy, and perpetuating stereotype against a minority that already struggles with proper representation in media.
Artists are free to create what they want. People are then also free to critique what artists make. FOH with that Gamergate grade "waah free speech!" Arguments.
It. Doesn't. Matter.
The social media manager they hired was literally hired to speak for them. He spoke for them, and he spoke in an offensive, transphobic way. What he said literally reflects on the company.
"not everyone is into LGBT issues, most people don't give a shit"
This right here is the fucking problem. More people should be. "I don't care, because it's not like i have to put up with persecution and bigotry in my day to day life."
Their is preferred for non-binary people. Trans, gay, bisexual, and lesbian prefer him or her.not everyone is into LGBT issues, most people don't give a shit. Of all the staff who should be aware and 'give a shit' about what is directly offensive to minorities, a community manager running your global twitter account is one of them. You don't need to be LGBT or even western to realise making jokes about people's identity is offensive, you just need to have a shred of empathy and professionalism.not everyone is into LGBT issues, most people don't give a shit. I assume that a community manager heard/saw the phrase out of context and just used it. They might wanna do some research to find out who was historically getting fucking burned at the stake and by whom.

Question to the people downplaying this:
How much longer are you going to give CDPR the benefit of the doubt? They already have an established history of alt right memes, and they have a poor history of misogyny and poor racial representation (specifically the sex cards, the taxi driver on the last trailer, and the lack of PoC on their last game)...So what exactly is the straw that will break the camel's back?
This is some scary shit.

In Poland I saw a dude stop his car and roll down his window when he saw a black person and asked him to rap for him. My polish colleagues say alot of racist things all the time. Its pretty far behind western countries in terms of equality.
