The more I play the Urzikstan the more I think it won't have the kind of staying power needed to keep Warzone fun for a very long time. I like the map better than Al Mazrah but I'm now pretty sure it has more to do with the changes to the pacing. The map itself is just kind of whatever.
I said this earlier - but revisiting Vondel and seeing how diversified that map is vs Urzikstan is pretty shocking. The Zoo in Vondel is more detailed and developed than any building in Urzikstan.
In terms of resurgence im pretty much done with all the island maps. The mode plays out way better on the big map and circling off those areas. The movement is so fast now that Ashika feels insane.
I'm already full time back on Vondel tbh. I'm even playing Ashika now if the rotation isn't in my favor, whereas I would normal do a match of Al Mazrah instead. Like you said, Urzikstan is just kinda whatever. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't enjoy it either.
I didn't particularly enjoy Al Mazrah that much either. But I do think that even most, if not all (excluding the Afghan map part, hate it there) POIs are significantly more interesting and better designed than any bit part of Urzikstan.
It's like they looked at the feedback of Al Mazrah and Vondel and just tunnel visioned on that... and just forgot the rest of what makes a map good and interesting? Like, people hated the open spaces on Al Mazrah, and loved the complexity and density of Vondel so they made a big map with lots of complexity and few open spaces. But forgot to take account that you kinda need well designed spaces to fight in and you need interesting POIs to make sure that each game and ending can feel unique
