As the leaks already said this is basically a WWII skin for Modern Warfare, so I'm already out of the MP. I'll only consider getting the game if Zombies is solid.
I think Warzone running on the MW19 engine means a larger fanbase feels more at home with its mechanics than BOCW...I couldn't stand how the game felt in comparison so I get why the next two cods will essentially be updates to the mw19 game...but if you didn't like it then yea, the future of Cod is a bit bleak.
For people saying this is a "re-skin of MW2019" – I'm probably not going to buy it so I don't really care, but I don't think that's entirely accurate

Maps were only part of the problem. You still have issues like the lightning fast ttk, Killstreaks and people not showing up on the map when they fire their gun unless you're using a perk. Also something you shouldn't forget is that these impressions are based on playing with and against other content creators who typically aren't the type of players to camp in a dark corner or behind cover the entire game.
Yep. Day one like the previous 15 or so COD's. Between MP, campaign, zombies and a new WZ map, it's loaded with content.
Probably would have had more impact if they had released the trailer before the multiplayer beta.

Well, I was talking about previous COD (MW2019 and CW), but it's true that the meaning of my post was too wide. I mean, yes, the core mechanics of MW2019 are in Vangard and I didn't see too many new stuff leaving aside the "mini tank"In terms of core mechanics alone (leaning, radar/compass separated, tac sprint, mounting, DOORS) it is appealing to the people who liked how MW2019 played.
The more arcadey CoDs are similar to 360 ones.
Engine =/= game design. All the older CoDs are based on the same engine which got upgrade with every game or so. Yet they are all so incredibly different if you ask the fans.I think Warzone running on the MW19 engine means a larger fanbase feels more at home with its mechanics than BOCW...I couldn't stand how the game felt in comparison so I get why the next two cods will essentially be updates to the mw19 game...but if you didn't like it then yea, the future of Cod is a bit bleak.
Send treyarch cods to the gulagThat's the thing. It's pretty clear this is going to feel at home for fans of 2019 so we can't really say it's for CoD fans in general, anymore. Treyarc's more arcadey philosophy is different than IW's recent approach, which seems to be a more "realistic" spin on the formula.
That much is known when you compare BO4 to MW2019, and MW2019 to CW (which basically stripped everything 2019 added and thank god for that lol).
Apparently it has a normal spawn system though, not Modern Warfare's garbage squad spawns. It's doing that shit from 2019 where you get an overview of the map before you spawn.
The spawn system was abysmal in 2019
