Anyone else think the photorealistic art style and detail made them think of the RE Engine?

Ha!
Totally...

I mean I'm not tech guy so I'm not going to talk about shaders, lightning effects and all that technical stuff... but it looks A LOT like RE engine. Specially the night vision part, it remind me to the VHS portions of RE7 (minus the scanlines)

This campaign definitely looks like something I would want to play, as opposed to just doing it until friends get online like I have with some previous titles.

Also, the MP with this era of weapons and gear is going to be a blast with modern tech.

Holy fucking shit it looks so good.
This is my fall game, fuck everything else. Oh my god, it's going to be one amazing holiday season.
I just hope they lock KBM players into their own pool.

Shiat... I don't want to talk without seeing gameplay, but that image is what I want from a Call of Duty game. No fucking jetpacks, futuristic shits, no neon skinned guns and clown camos. That trailer gives the new and classic CoD feel from start to finish. I don't care about reboot.

If the gameplay matches the same quality, I'll absolutely buy this game.

I'm old, gullible, and apparently have failing eyesight, because if you told me that was a real life image, I would believe you. Holy shit.

Edit: wait, what the fuck am I looking at?

Some things mentioned gameplay wise:

Can reload without leaving Aim Down sights

Scopes are slightly zoomed into compared to environment (Think Red Orchestra / Ghosts )

Destructible lights

People saying PC would dominate did not play BLOPS3 on PC. Especially when scumbags started to use XIM4 on it as well. Aim Assist was strong there. I had to use the Weevil and Man-O-War versus pad warriors.

The ending scene of the trailer gave me big time "raid on Bin Landens camp/villa" vibes... wouldn't be surprised at all if we got something super similar to that.

Nailing the COD4 (especially) and the MW2 stuff is money, its extremely nostalgic and feels very different than modern cod fake sci-fi crap.

I fully expect dumb skins for MP. But if they can keep it somewhat okay like in Siege, it should be fine.

However:

-Map design in COD is notoriously awful. Small maps, constant spawn flips, players rushing lanes like headless chickens, spawn camping. All of this is shit tier, thanks to gameplay being run and gun with no slow down.

-No season pass, but I bet we see a battle pass that locks new guns behind paywalls. And lootboxes are probably happening.

-COD always adds in sneaky bullshit throughout the game cycle that they dont have on launch to screw customers

-They need to confirm no heroes with ultimate abilities

If they somehow make a proper COD4 sequel -- slower gameplay, no god-like abilities, games focused on hearing sounds, sneaking, etc instead of just sprinting, and good maps that dont feel like a rat maze...then theyd have something promising. But we do this every year it feels like. BO4 was supposed to be a "return to roots" but it's completely hated by the community

Also looks like leaning is in? The success of Rainbow Six must've influenced that design choice.

As fun as MW2 was I really hope they stay away from the crazy, wacky killstreaks and perks in that game. It was so cheesy and horribly balanced. Prefer they keep it more grounded and real like CoD4.

I think it's the same leaning as Infinite Warfare/Ghosts

For sure. I can't remember when people were that positive about a CoD game on YT.

That ratio doesn't really mean anything. Remember how disliked the IW David Bowie trailer was? haha

Because people are seeking clarification that should have been along side the announcement and not wanting to read 20 pages of reactions?

its literally in the thread title, op, and any sourced articles about the announcement including the activation press release...

Story mode and no season pass means I think I definitely will pick it up on PC this year for keeps.
Skipped last year cause no story mode, and usually bought for story and sold back on console for the past releases since I don't buy DLC.

So really this is a win-win for me.

Captain Price seems to have a different voice actor this time. Damn it.

But besides that, the game looked pretty cool! Definitely interested in seeing how this reboot will be like. I absolutely loved the Modern Warfare trilogy.

I like what I see and I'm definitely in for the campaign. Can't wait to see and MP reveal.

If they can nail the MP this game will have high retention. Them doing free maps is a plus.

Oh, I bet this will have neon guns and clown outfits. Nothing wrong with that.

operators just sound like what they are doing with random characters in mwr MP

kind of boring. i wonder if they gonna get crazy with or stick with the generic soldier skins

I love the original Modern Warfare. It's going to be odd hearing different voice actors for Captain Price and Gaz, but it does look really good.

It's getting 3-4 less than usual but it's still 12 maps in total. So it's not awful.

MW is probably going to get 3-4 for the entire year, if that.
I keep telling people free maps ain't all it's cracked up to be.

I hate that there's still "specialists" in the game, don't know why they can't just give us character customization like a rpg.

They did both in Ghosts, AW, and WWII. Those games (more so the latter two), let you choose some presets and then pick their outfit.

I'm guessing they do this new method to have higher quality outfits? Also they don't want full character customization (as in more than just the face) due to hit boxes.

This will be the first CoD I buy since MW2 on 360. Excited about no season pass but honestly this just means there is going to be a shit ton of microtransactions which could really put a damper on progression if a bunch of shit is locked behind "supply crates".

I don't know if this has been noted - it probably has been - but Spec Ops is basically confirmed.
"Players can experience the ultimate online playground with classic multiplayer or squad-up and play cooperatively in a collection of elite operations, accessible to all skill levels. "

New engine, updated graphics, campaign, no season pass.

I'm finally buying another CoD
