"Look at me! I'm 50 and don't use a phone!" OK. I would clap for you but I'm talking to somebody more interesting on my phone.
Actually that wasn't and still doesn't show any evidence of me having an issue with mobile phones in pubs. I never once stated that mobile phones were 'anti-thetical' to socialising. Run along kiddo and try it on someone else.Just where you said "We were visiting pubs and socialising without mobile phones as a social crutch long before you were born" and assumed you thought mobile phones were anti-thetical to socialising

I don't. Where did that come from?Give him a minute, he's posting from his phone, and there's bad signal in his local.
Why do you assume everyone you speak to here is a kid or a youngster?
Nope. Only you in that one, single instance.
Must...res...ist....
I prefer to swallow rather than spit. How about you?
Ironic that these days the younger generation are always moaning about how the older generation are always moaning, yet it's those youngsters that are the ones getting offended by each and every article they read in the news.
We were visiting pubs and socialising without mobile phones as a social crutch long before you were even born. Find something else to whinge about.
Let's be real, you both seem like you wouldn't actually be fun or interesting people to go out drinking with, so your opinions on pubs and phones and those darn millineials really don't mean much.I'm of the same vintage and opinion on the thread topic, am a remainer and have detested loud music & people gabbing loudly on mobiles in pubs since I was in my 20s in the 90s, so drop your outrage and drink somewhere that allows you to be an annoying prick.
Is that your best retort? 😂That's some quality old man patter.
Everybody on your mobile phones GTFO so we can hear more of this old man's sexual harassment patter!
I ran pubs for 10 years as my vocation. I think I'm far more qualified and experienced than you to be making any judgement on this topic so you can quit your assumptions as regards to being either mad, jealous or both.Let's be real, you both seem like you wouldn't actually be fun or interesting people to go out drinking with, so your opinions on pubs and phones and those darn millineials really don't mean much.
Quit being mad and jealous of young people.
My dad uses his phone 10 times as much as me and I'm one of the crustiest geezers here.Let's face it, Team ancient old bugger isn't exactly filling this thread with the exuberance and joi de vivre you've all come to expect from us crusty old geezers.

You didn't make a judgement on pubs, you made a judgment on young people and them whining. You came in this thread to whine about people whining.I ran pubs for 10 years as my vocation. Aye, I've finished my pint but am stuck in the booth next to the bickering farts so I'm Googling fresh memes and Proxy Paige vids.
Haha this place is absolutely tanking. It used to have a vaguely Italian-American 1950s vibe, but they changed everything to be cheaper and the menu sucks."Last year Frankie and Benny's became the first family restaurant in the UK to implement a ban on mobile phones."
Another reason (I wasn't even aware of) I can't stand that place

Is the breakfast still decent? The mains are laughable. Dry burgers, and I remember ordering mac and cheese that was barely enough for a starter, let alone a full meal.My local Frankie & Benny's does a great Eggs Benedict/Royale, surprising given the quality of the standard menu. But it's also located in a shopping centre and a lot of their clientele are teens, so there's no way in hell they're enforcing a phone ban.
This is what you came to moan about, young people moaning, and you're also moaning about the idea that it's older people who moan (clearly a trend you've managed to avoid lol)Ironic that these days the younger generation are always moaning about how the older generation are always moaning, yet it's those youngsters that are the ones getting offended by each and every article they read in the news.

You were passing judgement as above, and congrats on the generalisation of the forum (what a shocker in combination with your no political talk and joke regarding spitting or swallowing ejaculate)I didn't make any judgement as it happens. If you take the time to read my previous posts then you will see that.
A couple of idiotic forum users decided to take my posts and, for whatever reason, use them in their agenda.
But then again, that's nothing new here right? As for maturing, you need to practice what you preach.
There are so many levels of moan you have brought upon this thread that to pretend you aren't doing the same is laughableLet's also get to the crust of things shall we? I haven't actually been moaning about the original topic of conversation have I? It's you....the moaners, that have actually found something to moan about. I've stated my affirmation on the company's decision on their legislations.
I'm not the wanker troll here. You are.
it's this board come to life. also a good reason to not go there

Interesting.
I don't disagree with the idea.
Do people flock to Samuel Smith's in the UK like as a destination brewery to go to? USed to drink their beers a lot, 10, 15 years ago, but not anymore. Wasn't sure if it's a sought after place. I could see if it ruined the vibe if people were constantly snapchatting or instagramming that they're at the brewery or w/e.
Happens at TReehouse... basically impossible to walk around without someone taking out their phone and instagramming their beer.
If I'm going out alone I'll seek out bars and breweries that have wifi. If I'm with other people doesn't really matter. Also if I have to do some work, I'll often head to a bar or brewery to get it done, but I go to specific places to do that, and it's usually the middle of the day when it's not busy.

It's gone now. They've changed all the menu and changed the music to the standard chart-topper fare. So even the novelty is dead.I visited a few times with my kids a few years ago but in London it was severely outclassed, in my opinion. Almost any American diner would be preferable. One thing they did pay attention to was a vaguely Happy Days atmosphere. It didn't make up for the mediocre food. My kids, both adults, loved it.
You probably had a V90 acoustic modem with which you had a relationship best described as affectionate disappointment. Most people didn't even have a wired Ethernet LAN in their homes, Wi-Fi came in 1998.
I love it. I want to go to there.it's this board come to life. also a good reason to not go there
