I'm happy to hear that we'll get more Immortal information at Blizzcon. If they execute the monetization well enough, and make the gameplay loop fun I have zero issues downloading it and giving it a shot. I don't love mobile games or touch screen gaming, but there are some that have pulled it off rather well. I don't expect it to be the next great Diablo game that course corrects the entire franchise. Thats for Diablo 4 to do (hopefully), not a spin off game.
Phew! Thought for a sec that I read the schedule wrong and would miss the opening ceremony because of class.

It's 1pm-2pm for me and I'll be taking a late lunch and watch it while eating my yummy salad
I'm fortunate enough to have my own office and two monitors and Friday is usually pretty slow. I'm fully ready to consume my Slim Fast and embrace WoW suffering.
Just found out I'm off on Friday, whoo! Guess I'll be able to watch the open ceremony again this year without being afraid of working late and missing it.

Yeah I pretty much have the same setup. I'll probably tell my assistant that I'm going to be on an important phone call or some shit so I don't get bothered.
I'll be watching the stream on my widescreen television, all wrapped in a snuggle-tier blanket and snacks on hand.
YouTube, Twitch, Mixer will be the alternative avenues for watching the stream. But I'm uncertain about the Epic Panels.

The message is that these things are "for the fans", but that's bull, everything they do is about money, and how to squeeze every last drop of it out of us, including the "hooray for fans" message. So, I'd be way happier to not see the "shitshow" that some are hoping for, just less attendance.

Well they got right the Mechagnomes and Vulpera alliance races and it makes sense that Shadowlands will bring everyone back to 60
People have speculated those two would be allied races since 8.1 through datamining. The Shadowlands have been teased about throughout the expansion. And the level squish was brought up by developers a while ago.

Yeah I think a squish WAS planned but they couldn't figure out a way to do it the way they wanted to. And they'd rather do it with as little pushback as possible than half ass it.

The main problem I have/had with immortal is I expect it to be full of microtransactions, like some of the worst practices in the mobile market level of stuff.

It's going to be F2P and you can simply look at other Netease games to know/guess what's going to happen.
The actions of the Chinese government is so repugnant and horrific I cant bring myself to be excited by any announcement no matter how cool that is in any way supportive of it. No matter how great the game there are some things that I just cant get past. Money over human lives is one of them, I understand the games are gonna be cool but everything that has been going on is so dark and crazy I am all out of supporting one penny towards it

Not that I think DI will be unsuccessful. I don't do most mobile games but people pay nutso amounts of money on them so either way I think Blizzard will make some cash based on just the name alone.
Agreed. I love blizzard games, but there's no way I could feel like a good person if I played them or gave blizzard money.
Bluddshed recently threw out an idea for Diablo 4 that I think would be pretty cool in this modern era of transmog and people really taking time to fashion up their characters. He suggested rare drop alternative weapon skins for unique items. Same stat ranges as a regular unique/legendary but with a unique cosmetic skin. So like a golden In-Geom, or a ghostly Skorn. Just something for players to chase that are out of the wheel of power growth.
