I was wondering that too. Even if they do the 80 minutes in "real time", there could be enough before and after they meet the messenger from the future and presumably succeed in their mission to push the film to 1.75-2 hours.
There is a precedence for them with facial hair. At the end of 2, they go into the future to learn to play and come back with ZZ Top like facial hair.

2 is a better overall movie, 1 is a sort of period piece IMO. More about highschool etc.
Plus 2's ending is perfect.

Adding, "They return to that scene at the Circle K when Bill and Ted first meet themselves, only now they're watching their younger selves and looking at the exuberance and joy that they had at that time in their lives. And they see Rufus, they see George Carlin..."

This is a great take I haven't heard yet. In general, I wonder if they're going to go the KISS song route of the second film and use a song that wasn't written specifically for the film.
I think once people see modern Keanu back as Ted, the hype is going to greatly amp up outside of the circle of loyal fans of the first two movies.
The daughters will definitely be the key to writing the song. Either they literally write it, collaborate with their dads, or are at least the inspiration. Gonna make me cry.
I love this idea, but at the same time, it's gonna be hard for them to have an actual song that lives up to the imagination behind the lore.

I'd be surprised if we ever hear the actual song for this reason. As soon as it's real it can be judged.
Shoulda kept the beard he had in the first Entertainment Weekly pic. I think it matched better.
