Interesting. I liked the Saturn pad at the time, but I can't say I'm fond of the smaller top row of buttons at this point.
Same. The dpad is legendary for fighting games but unless you're playing Virtua Fighter, the top row face buttons don't feel great to press constantly and limit the controllers potential tbh.

Of course, doesn't matter much if you're playing a simple control game like platformers, beat em ups, shootemups etc which is what the controller excelled that, but with dual analog and triggers I can't think of many modern games to i'd want to play with this.

Nice to see it's finally coming but ouch at those Joy Con sticks... Guess those concepts were too good to be true. Might as well get a controller with no sticks because I'm looking for an all rounder controller and this is not it, so no need to pay for sticks I won't use.

I really disliked Retrobit's Saturn controller. I could live with the fact the switches in the L and R buttons were a bit of a step down but the d-pad felt like cheap plastic compared to the original Saturn controllers rubberised feel.

That said I'm still waiting on their six button Dreamcast controller but I think that ship has sailed.

Even if they were ps5/xbox style it would still probably be subpar for 3d games. Saturn pad form factor doesn't really work with dual stick placement.

Imo you 're better having 2 great specialized controllers, than a mediocre jack of all trades.

Using switch style sticks on that Retrobit update is fine with me because I mainly just want them available for occasional usage. You get 2D games that would play absolutely fine with a 2D pad if it wasn't for that one function that's mapped to the right stick meaning I need to use a more standard controller.

Anyone saying anything other than the Sega Saturn controller is dead to me.

Honorable Mention to the Neo Geo Controller for the PS3 (the one with the 6 button layout).

Why are top 3 buttons much smaller? Just to keep it like the old Saturn pad? Seems it would be harder to press those buttons.

Also, not a fan of smaller sticks.

I'm glad the 6 button twin stick controllers will be released around May 2023 but on page 2 I posted a great controller, 6 face buttons twin stick 2 shoulders 2 back buttons plus Bluetooth works great for ReDream emu on phone 📱

Yeah I really hope they change that. The smaller buttons would make it difficult to use with SNES. The goal IMO for a controller like this is that it's the only controller you need for retro games.

RetroRGB has a video and article with lots of photos about the Retro-Bit Saturn Analog controller:

A Closer Look at Retro-Bit's Wireless Analog Saturn Pads

Pat and I got a chance to sit down with the dudes (Ron, Rich & Andy) from Retro-Bit this past weekend at Portland's Retro Gaming Expo, and we were able to get our hands on their latest (yet to be released) product, the “SEGA Saturn 2.4Ghz Wireless Pro Controller”. https://youtu.be/sG1VnT41Hu

Thanks for sharing! I'll be following this closely as it seems to be my dream controller, despite the nitpicks.

Those sticks seem way too small, and they're probably gonna drift if they're actually joy con sticks...
