Yup. I hope I win but more for the hope in out society reasons than anything else lolSure! Ill take that bet. Seems heavily skewed against me but Im that confident in how terrible a large portion of american voters are (republican+independents). They value the status quo above all.
Yeah this is my line of thinking right now. But years from now? It will literally become necessary and everyone in washington will know it, to maintain our current economic system unless a dem led government makes big changes to it. and that's a lot less likely to happen given the US track record of waiting until disaster strikes to make changes IE another great recession or even a depression. UBI we be like life support for the brand of capitalism we have here in the US. It will keep the status quo going for x amount of years.Good for him!
I already cast my primary ballot for Warren, but I would be fine with voting for Sanders.
I'm not totally convinced it won't be Biden anyway despite one good poll result, but trends start with outliers.
Also don't think Sanders or Warren picking the other one as their VP is the best idea, though I think Sanders-Warren makes more sense than Warren-Sanders.
Clinton wanted to run on a UBI program but determined the tax increases required to fund it would have been lethal politically. I don't think future Democrats, even of the establishment stripe, embracing UBI is that out of the question.
If you straight up give up the fight on the overton window and allow rhetoric to be shaped by right-wingers exclusively, leftists will lose every single future election ever.Once republicans start attacking Sanders using his own words, declaring himself a socialist on national TV through thousands of ads it will be all over. His poll numbers will drop and absolutely nothing can be done about it. A large number of Americans really hate socialists, doesn't matter what their ideas are, they just wrongly see socialists as a threat to their way of life. It's pathetic but there is nothing we can do about it. Maybe if Sanders was young and attractive then that could undo it because also sadly, attractiveness also has a huge effect on who people choose to vote for.
Yeah he would need someone younger imo, but still with good experiences. I hope Liz would be in the cabinet though.
Seems fair to exclude single-digit candidates from debates at this stage, yes. Probably a few of the previous rounds as well. Realistically, no matter how good the ideas that those candidates might have and no matter how much money they might be able to throw around, polling on 5% less than two weeks before in-person voting begins when there's candidates polling above 20% isn't a winning position. If you're polling in the single-digits you shouldn't be on the debate stage or on the primary ballot imo.
Serious candidates only please.
In terms of political effectiveness in office, you're absolutely correct. Warren would be better in a different position, and having her as VP would be kind of a waste. The Bernie/Warren or Warren/Bernie "dream team" tickets have always been pretty silly to me, those two would be much more effective in a different capacity than being kinda wasted as a VP.

Good point.
Here's another poll, since people keep saying "one poll thread" OP.
UshioRulz
Note Bernie does extremely well with black voters here, further on in the thread.
He's trending up in Early State and Super Tuesday polls as well

Definitely! With you there and hoping for the best.Yup. I hope I win but more for the hope in out society reasons than anything else lol
thanks for being a good sport
It's more about anticipation. Of course right wingers will always attack the democratic candidate and accuse them of being socialist or whatever other word that they find demeaning. And those attacks generally do work which is why they keep relying on them. It is just my personal opinion that it would be harder for republicans to attack and label Warren effectively compared to Sanders. If you straight up give up the fight on the overton window and allow rhetoric to be shaped by right-wingers exclusively, leftists will lose every single future election ever.
Anyway I'm pretty sure the Dems would literally rather lose than nominate an actual progressive. Hope I'm proven wrong.
This. It's why Klobuchar getting the push from so many directions annoying as fuck.If you're polling in the single-digits you shouldn't be on the debate stage or on the primary ballot imo.

Yup.
I still don't get why everyone is going crazy over Abrams except for the fact she black, a women and young. I'd hope he'd pick someone that aligns more with him since a VP would have the best chance to succeed a president and I don't want to move too far back.

I just don't think that those are effective attacks. Of course Warren messed up by acknowledging them. They already attack and label Warren. She lied about her indigenous heritage since the 80's and wound up with a lot of egg on her face over the DNA test. Trump already frequently calls her "Pocahontas" and I think that will be her undoing.

She will always be a better choice than Sanders, but America can't handle a woman in the White House. Which isn't so surprising given how the country is decades behind its peers on social issues, but it's still very disappointing.
I'd like Barbara Lee, the only real knock against her is that she's not young. With warmongering over Iran potentially being a big story this year I think she'd be a great pick to point to and say "she's been right about this shit this entire time"I still don't get why everyone is going crazy over Abrams except for the fact she black, a women and young. I nominate AOCFor the last time why would you do this?
He should pick a young PoC who has slightly moderate leanings to balance out the ticket.
Thanks MSNBCOther 27%
Biden 24%
Warren 14%
Buttigieg 11%
Bloomberg 5%
Klobuchar 4%
Yang 4%
Steyer 2%
Just one poll. Hopefully it is an outlier, I'm really not hoping for another four years of Trump.
it's a good thing Bernie gives non-voters a reason to turn out and also polls better against Trump than Clinton ever did.

Is the Sanders with Warren as VP dream dead after their public faceoff?

I'm not sure I'd ever agree that they shouldn't be on the ballot though. That seems like it'd give pollsters a real opportunity to do some very shady things.
Yeah, that's the major problem here. Biden has more upside to the stragglers dropping out.
My god imagine the VP going on TV and calling for the president to be assassinated.
...lackluster, his speeches dull and meandering, and his crowds comparatively small. I've been to memorial services that are more exciting. I certainly hope mine is.
